Sainsbury's to stop selling fireworks

Good, the only disappointment is other major chains had decided not to follow in their foot steps. Hopefully they will in time.... |

It's possible to plan to avoid the (ever increasing) bangs on Bonfire Night, but not when they are happening willy-nilly all year round. Our council banned garden bonfires to help asthmatics, but no chance of them banning fireworks for those with pets, autism or PTSD. |

Re: Sainsbury's to stop selling fireworks
To be honest, considering the price of the damn things I'm surprised anyone but the Government can afford the things . . and they only used about 100,000 of them for the last New Year bash in London

Re: Sainsbury's to stop selling fireworks
They didn’t - that’s funded by the London tax-payers, as it’s organised by the Greater London Authority.

Re: Sainsbury's to stop selling fireworks
Maybe the best answer is to have a limited time schedule in which fireworks are on sale?

Should only be held at proper displays over a 2 day period... I really get miffed when the ruddy things go on for weeks on end.

It starts weeks before in our area and l suspect many other areas have exactly the same scenario.

Re: Sainsbury's to stop selling fireworks
Where I moved to, last year, they had a large Bonfire and Firework event on a large sports field, behind a hill in view of my front bedroom window, it was a ringside seat to a glorious filled firework session, didn't have to leave the house and never paid a penny to watch.

Re: Sainsbury's to stop selling fireworks
The real trick is just to record the fireworks one year then watch the replay every year after that.

Re: Sainsbury's to stop selling fireworks
Not had any fireworks being let off by yobbos yet. Maybe because the local Sainsbury's are not selling them and there's no other easy supply.

Re: Sainsbury's to stop selling fireworks
Typical nanny state.
The minority bitch and moan and get their way. Which is typical of things in the UK. |

If not a full ban then make it so hard to buy some that it becomes a chore to buy them and hopefully that takes away most of the trouble makers. It's got nothing to do with a nanny state and just what makes sense and in fact they aren't even banned, a private company have stopped selling them, so not sure how you come to the conclusion of a nanny state. |
Re: Sainsbury's to stop selling fireworks
No fireworks going off here in cleethorpes ,and they are on sale year round.
