Have YOU ever completed the Rubiks Cube?

I have completed it in the past when i was in my teens and i was pretty happy.

I think i need to up my game after watching this child complete 3 at once while juggling them!

I knew how to do this back in the 1980's.

I dont think I could remember all the moves now.

It was easy, just involved removing the coloured stickers and reapplying on the correct side.

Re: Rubiks Cube

I'm guessing he knew how those cubes were laid out as the kid in the first video got the world record in April 2018.

He now holds 3 world records.

Juggling 3
Juggling 2 and solving the 3rd with his feet.
Solving a cube the fastest upside down.

It was actually quite easy to just take them apart and reassemble correctly. ;)

I have the BEST way to complete it...

Take it apart and put it back together right :D

Other than that I can only complete 1 side @ a time......

I did once learn a method, and I can still get the top two layers. A far cry from my heyday, though, when I had one whose internal surfaces were greased with Vaseline! Oooh, could those cubes move!

World-class performance was defined as solving it in less than 90 seconds -once, just once, I did it in 88 seconds.

My newphew an complete on is just over a minute.

I did one with his help in around 15 minutes. My first time ever completing one.

Did he use a cheat sheet initially and then remember it?

I bought the Rubik's Revenge but that is far too hard.

Re: Rubiks Cube

I think so, but its not that straight forward.

Depending on the postion of the colour you want to move you have 2 different algoriths to remember, and there are different ones for middle and bottom row.

The current record is 3.47 seconds.

Blind folded in 17.87 seconds.

Re: Rubiks Cube

How can it be done blind folded if you can't see the colours?

My personal best is just under two minutes. Faster to solve it than take it apart and recover. Excellent time waster. I still have my original cube made in Hungary from 1980. :) :)

No that's a bit too much for me, plus it is illegal to do that while driving to work. :D
