Can't access my eMail
 

I can NOT access my mail since Virgin did some updates yesterday...They did the same darn thing in 2015..Do they not learn lessons from their mistakes. ? I get this page instead "OX APP SUITE" which will NOT sign me in..I get the same ruddy page when I go to "My Virginmedia" ..

Any idea why & when it will be fixed....I in Swansea the cwm area.. Thanks

No problems here using Thunderbird as e-mail client. Is it just webmail that's the problem?

Generally seems ok in Outlook 2019 but occasionally 1 of my 2 accounts throws up an error collecting the mail, but then if i collect it again it works.

Luckily i don't use ISP email for anything important anymore, best to stay away from it.

Now do the sensible thing and move your email away from your ISP, atleast the important stuff.

Accessed mine ok with Office 2019, not tried their website though.

Sites down for now, that is the message i get when clicking Email on the Site even though it says email is fine!

l just phoned customer services and after l told her clearly what the problem was her security questions staggered me as first of all she wanted my bank sort code :mad::mad: and then after l politely refused as l told her this is not a question she should be asking and then she asked me how much our bill is each month :mad::mad: which is another question they should be asking as all they ask for is a security passward.

And to it that she clearly had no idea what she was talking about as well and this is the worse customer service call in my time as a customer.

Clueless and not knowing what she was doing is being nice to her.

Why don't you install an email client instead of relying on webmail?

Thunderbird is a good one that comes to mind.

I've just logged in via the email link, i selected my email ends in virginmedia so try that.

If your email address ends in @virginmedia.com click here

I've used Thunderbird as mail client for years. Thoroughly recommend. Never use the webmail interface.

My email ends in blueyonder.co.uk.

I recommend moving away from an ISP email for most of your stuff, move to something like gmail or outlook because if it goes tits up or you move isp you can quickly get stuffed.

Big advantage of using an email client is that mail, both received and sent is stored locally on your PC. You'll never loose it if the ISP goes belly up, you have no internet, or you change plus you can easily copy/update mailboxes from machine to machine or backup.

Yes absolutely i use Outlook 2019, my point was actually using an ISP email is not a good idea anymore for important stuff atleast, i see so many posts over the years where the ISP has done something to try and fix an issue and it has lost the customers emails or address or the customer forgot to transfer when moving ISPs.

Just run up the main PC to use the media server for a film etc. this evening and all the mail from about 6 this morning has come in OK. No apparent issues.

I learnt years ago not to use an ISP email. I now have 3 independent ones that follow me wherever I go ISP wise. Contact lists are also synced across all 3.

Yes my gmail contact list is safe as that is online, so any mobile device gets its contacts from there rather than a storing on a mobile sim.

Some people still store all there contacts on the sim!
