What happens to my @ntlworld.com

When I leave VM What happens to my @ntlworld.com accounts when I leave Virgin what happens to my @ntlworld.com email accounts, some say no access after 3 months some say I will still have access to them, which is correct?

they are definitely going to be deactivated, it will just take a period of time for everything to trickle through the system. If VM wanted to provide free email access just so you could have a @ntlworld/@virginmedia.com email address then it would be open to everyone.

Better make plans for a new email address asap if you plan on leaving, I recommend Gmail or outlook both are free.

Just remember to tell banks and other important ones your new email or it could all go pear shaped!

My ntlworld email stopped 3 months after I left.

Didn't use it much anyway. Prefer not to rely on ISP email addresses.

I spoke to my friend who left VM to go over to Talk Talk over 4 months ago and his @ntlworld.com is still working, the @virginmeadia ones have been cut off after 30 days.

He said when he cancelled his Virgin service the agent said he would still have access to his @ntlword.com but not his @verginmeadia accounts.

I love my ntlworld account, it's well sexy ;). Don't get any spam in it either, must be a domain that's now off the radar. Do have a Gmail aswell, it's good to have contingencies.

I've had my @virgin.net addy for 20 odd years from the old dial-up days. Just keeps going.

It's not linked to my TV/phone/BB account addy's either so I guess that if I left VM it would still keep going.

It may not have been done correctly. All email accounts should be closed after leaving.

My virgin.net address stopped working in the early 2000's, I had moved moved from dial-up to cable in 1999.

Best not to use ISP email, if you leave the ISP you're stuffed.

Thing is did you keep traffic on it? I keep the various forum notifications running through mine.

Its too long ago to remember now, I suspect very little (besides spam) went to it after the first few months of being on cable.

My lineone.net email stopped last month. It was a freebie with a magazine cover disk offer many, many years ago, accessed using www.mail2web.com. I only gave it out to stop spam hitting my main email account.

Ken

Two things:

1. are you leaving VM?

2. are your power levels low? Is mine an area thing or just my circuits (I have more than one all with very low downstream power)?

Cheers

I am considering moving to an area which may not be VM.

Thanks, Ken. So it's my circuit only.

I hope all goes well if you move out of the area. A tip for you, though - do check in advance whether VDSL (e.g. BT Infinity) cabinet is within 400m of your new place and that the new place is not connected to the green cabinet with aluminium cable.
