TV Schedule - Spring/Summer 2019
Hi dudes and dudettes, it has come round to that time of the year where we wipe the slate clean of the summer series and start fresh for the new fall tv season. I am starting a new thread so nobody gets confused with the posts and any dates mentioned in last year's thread.
There will be 3 main updates to this thread over the next year. The first one is this one which is by far the largest update of the year for new tv season which includes many new series as well as returning series. The second update will be the mid-season update in the new year where I wipe everything pre-Christmas off and we focus on January-March and March will be the final update of the year looking at what is on over summer. I will be making minor updates in between as air dates get revised and new information gets released. The list is in chronological order although I am listing new series separately so they stand out and you can give them greater consideration if you are looking for something new to seek your teeth in to. This is by no means an exhaustive list of every series in existence and is only the series which I watch/will be watching as well as some other popular series I have seen other forum users mention. In the event that I have missed something out or you would like to see something added to the list please say so and I'll do my best to get it added. Returning Series Stranger Things 3x01 - Thursday 4th July Trailer Killjoys 5x01 - Wednesday 10th July Trailer Preacher 4x01 - Thursday 4th August Homeland 8x01 - delayed until fall 2019/2020 season New Series The Rook - Sunday 1st July Trailer After waking in a park with total amnesia and surrounded by dead bodies, all wearing latex gloves, a young woman must fight to uncover her past, and resume her position at the head of Britain's most secret (supernatural) service before the traitors who stole her memory can finish what they started. Based on the novel by Daniel O'Malley. Warigami - Friday 12th July Trailer Warigami is a ten-part series, consisting of ten minute episodes that is a contemporary samurai saga. Wendy Ohata has just made three startling realizations: One, she has a twin brother; two, she’s a kami-jin – a descendent of an ancient Japanese people who can turn paper into deadly weapons; and three, there’s a kami-jin warrior hunting her down for reasons she doesn’t understand. Pandora - Tuesday 17th July Teaser Set in the year 2199, Pandora centres on Jax, a resourceful young woman who has lost everything after the death of her parents but finds a new life at Earth's Space Training Academy where she and her friends learn to defend the Galaxy from threats, both alien and human. When secrets about the nature of her own identity begin to surface, she must uncover the truth, and whether she will be humanity's saviour or the instrument of its destruction. Dark Web - Friday 19th July A genius programmer's mysterious disappearance leads to the reunion of old friends and the discovery that the strange stories she left behind may point to an impending technological crisis. Another Life - Thursday 25th July Teaser Astronaut Niko Breckinridge in Another Life, a new original series from Netflix. Niko is on a mission in search of alien intelligence, and with her young crew she faces unimaginable danger while exploring the genesis of an alien artifact, and then must battle to return home. The Boys - Friday 26th July Trailer Trailer 2 In a world where superheroes embrace the darker side of their massive celebrity and fame, The Boys centres on a group of vigilantes known informally as 'The Boys', who set out to take down corrupt superheroes with no more than blue collar grit and a willingness to fight dirty. Pennyworth - Saturday 27th July - Teaser The origin story of Bruce Wayne's legendary butler, Alfred Pennyworth, a former British SAS soldier who forms a security company and goes to work with Thomas Wayne, Bruce's billionaire father, in 1960's London. We Were Tomorrow - Monday 1st August When a meteor collides with the moon, half of Earth becomes locked in eternal sunlight and the other half is plunged into infinite darkness. Seven immortal Alchemists attempt to salvage mankind by relocating a group of people to a parallel version of Earth; amongst them are Cain Foster and Jonathan Reeves. The Alchemists bestow those chosen and their descendants with three lifetimes to rebuild humanity, but rebellion swiftly divides the group and after several centuries of war, the Alchemists select several young people, including twin siblings, Noah and Evelyn Reeves, to return to Earth a year before the meteor hit. BH90210 - Sunday 7th August Having gone their separate ways since the original series ended 19 years ago, the cast of Beverly Hills, 90210 reunites when one of them suggests it's time to get a Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot up and running. But getting it going might make for an even more delicious soap than the reboot itself. Carnival Row - Thursday August 29th Teaser 1 Teaser 2 In a mystical and dark city filled with humans, fairies and other creatures, a police detective investigates a series of gruesome murders levekled against the fairy population. During his investigation, the detective becomes the prime suspect and must find the real hugger to clear his name The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance - Friday 30th August When the Crystal of Truth is damaged, corrupted by the evil Skeksis, and a sickness spreads across the land, three Gelflings uncover the horrific truth behind the power of the Skeksis and an adventure unfolds as the fires of rebellion are lit and an epic battle for the planet begins. The Mandalorian - Monday 11th November After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic. For All Mankind - TBC Trailer Told through the lives of NASA astronauts, engineers and their families, For All Mankind presents an aspirational world where NASA and the space program remained a priority and a focal point of our hopes and dreams. |
Re: TV Schedule - Fall 2018/2019
Marvel's Runaways season 2 to air 21st December on Hulu only.
New Series. The Rookie-16th October Trailer Starting over isn't easy, especially for small-town guy John Nolan who, after a life-altering incident, is pursuing his dream of being an LAPD officer. As the force's oldest rookie, he's met with skepticism from some higher-ups who see him as just a walking midlife crisis. If he can't keep up with the young cops and the criminals, he'll be risking lives including his own. But if he can use his life experience, determination and sense of humor to give him an edge, he may just become a success in this new chapter of his life. |

Re: TV Schedule - Fall 2018/2019
Where exactly is that being aired ?
|
Re: TV Schedule - Fall 2018/2019
well my tv calendar says it is airing on Syfy in the US but it also says it is an Australian produced series so I can only assume syfy have bought the licensing rights etc for US broadcast and it will obviously air on local channels in Aussy as well.
|
Re: TV Schedule - Fall 2018/2019
Ah, ok, I see it on pod as well now.
In that case there is a reasonable chance one of the groups will capture it. |
Re: TV Schedule - Fall 2018/2019
I am confident
|
Re: TV Schedule - Fall 2018/2019
Van Helsing is back on 5th October
|
Re: TV Schedule - Fall 2018/2019
Picked up Jack Ryan and Bodyguard.
Can't say I'm disappointed with either of them. Bodyguard is superb. Jack Ryan defenitely has its niggles but its a fun watch and probably my best adaption of the character. Sadly I've blown through the series in a few sittings so just waiting for the CW stuff to start rolling. |
Re: TV Schedule - Fall 2018/2019

|
Re: TV Schedule - Fall 2018/2019
Me too. I love a solid series scifi series like this, especially when it involves time travel and changing the course of events.
As an fyi i subsequently added a new series called "origin" which started last night and season 1 has dropped. Check out the trailer (link provided). |

Re: TV Schedule - Fall 2018/2019
It was filmed at the same time as the first season so it's all ready to go.
|
Re: TV Schedule - Fall 2018/2019
Ah, that explains it then, i thought they were rushing it a bit. Nobody needs to worry about it. I was concerned when i heard they were filming the final two seasons of The Last Ship together and thought it was a cost saving exercise in terms of logistics and locations but i couldnt have been more wrong. They were completely different and i thought the final season was superb.
As an fyi, i have added a new scifi series called The Passenge. |

Re: TV Schedule - Fall 2018/2019
A bit of a bummer for those who were looking forward to it; the finale season of Homeland has been delayed. Over the last couple of years it was pushed back from the usual September/October release date to after xmas to January. Last year it got pushed back to February and this final season has now been pushed back completely by a year to the fall 2019/2020 schedule :(

Re: TV Schedule - Fall 2018/2019
I have learnt not to even bother with GoT. One of the many great things about watching it is that it is like going on adventure. You are 100% focused and on the edge of your seat because you never know what is going to happen next. I know what I would like to happen but you know it isn't going to. You can't even believe anything the cast say about it. Kahleesi was at the Oscars on Sunday and she said "everyone is going to be shocked at the ending". It sounds good and exciting to be teased like that but it is all hot air because she doesn't know what the ending is. They filmed multiple extra scenes which aren't going to be in the series to keep the set watchers busy and multiple endings have been filmed so none of the cast or crew knows how it is going to end and leak it.

Re: TV Schedule - Spring/Summer 2019
I know it isn't the usual scifi/entertaining stuff I post but I think this is definitely worth a mention. New nature series narrated by David Attenborough filmed in HD in over 50 countries giving a very comprehensive look at nature and our planet. Starts on 5th April:

Re: TV Schedule - Spring/Summer 2019
Lol, nice. I think it is stupid that they do that in this day and age. TV series arent shown exclusively in the US and would you expect international broadcasters (e.g. Sky) to pay for the rights if they dont think anyone is going to watch it. Our interest needs to be piqued. It is just as stupid as making a new film but only showing the trailer in the US.
