TV Schedule - Spring/Summer 2019

Hi dudes and dudettes, it has come round to that time of the year where we wipe the slate clean of the summer series and start fresh for the new fall tv season. I am starting a new thread so nobody gets confused with the posts and any dates mentioned in last year's thread.

There will be 3 main updates to this thread over the next year. The first one is this one which is by far the largest update of the year for new tv season which includes many new series as well as returning series. The second update will be the mid-season update in the new year where I wipe everything pre-Christmas off and we focus on January-March and March will be the final update of the year looking at what is on over summer. I will be making minor updates in between as air dates get revised and new information gets released.

The list is in chronological order although I am listing new series separately so they stand out and you can give them greater consideration if you are looking for something new to seek your teeth in to. This is by no means an exhaustive list of every series in existence and is only the series which I watch/will be watching as well as some other popular series I have seen other forum users mention. In the event that I have missed something out or you would like to see something added to the list please say so and I'll do my best to get it added.

Returning Series

Stranger Things 3x01 - Thursday 4th July Trailer
Killjoys 5x01 - Wednesday 10th July Trailer
Preacher 4x01 - Thursday 4th August

Homeland 8x01 - delayed until fall 2019/2020 season

Marvel's Runaways season 2 to air 21st December on Hulu only.

New Series. The Rookie-16th October Trailer
Starting over isn't easy, especially for small-town guy John Nolan who, after a life-altering incident, is pursuing his dream of being an LAPD officer. As the force's oldest rookie, he's met with skepticism from some higher-ups who see him as just a walking midlife crisis. If he can't keep up with the young cops and the criminals, he'll be risking lives including his own. But if he can use his life experience, determination and sense of humor to give him an edge, he may just become a success in this new chapter of his life.

Where exactly is that being aired ?

well my tv calendar says it is airing on Syfy in the US but it also says it is an Australian produced series so I can only assume syfy have bought the licensing rights etc for US broadcast and it will obviously air on local channels in Aussy as well.

Picked up Jack Ryan and Bodyguard.

Can't say I'm disappointed with either of them. Bodyguard is superb. Jack Ryan defenitely has its niggles but its a fun watch and probably my best adaption of the character.

Sadly I've blown through the series in a few sittings so just waiting for the CW stuff to start rolling.

Re: TV Schedule - Fall 2018/2019

Ah, that explains it then, i thought they were rushing it a bit. Nobody needs to worry about it. I was concerned when i heard they were filming the final two seasons of The Last Ship together and thought it was a cost saving exercise in terms of logistics and locations but i couldnt have been more wrong. They were completely different and i thought the final season was superb.

As an fyi, i have added a new scifi series called The Passenge.

It's based on a trilogy of books by Justin Cronin (which are very good, imho) about the apocalyptic (and post-apocalyptic) USA, with vampires.

Any theories as what is to come? as the Winterfell crypts trailer intrigues me greatly.

General Maximus 26-02-2019 16:47

Re: TV Schedule - Fall 2018/2019

I have learnt not to even bother with GoT. One of the many great things about watching it is that it is like going on adventure. You are 100% focused and on the edge of your seat because you never know what is going to happen next. I know what I would like to happen but you know it isn't going to. You can't even believe anything the cast say about it. Kahleesi was at the Oscars on Sunday and she said "everyone is going to be shocked at the ending". It sounds good and exciting to be teased like that but it is all hot air because she doesn't know what the ending is. They filmed multiple extra scenes which aren't going to be in the series to keep the set watchers busy and multiple endings have been filmed so none of the cast or crew knows how it is going to end and leak it.

Lol, nice. I think it is stupid that they do that in this day and age. TV series arent shown exclusively in the US and would you expect international broadcasters (e.g. Sky) to pay for the rights if they dont think anyone is going to watch it. Our interest needs to be piqued. It is just as stupid as making a new film but only showing the trailer in the US.

I agree, what makes it even worse IMHO is when they share it on social media with the Geolock still there. They know damn well if it looks like it'll be good it'll be re-tweetet/facebooked world wide.

Looking forward to it especially with the excellent Professor Brian Cox at the helm.

Brace yourself, they are so keen to make sure you dont miss it that they are showing it three times on consecutive days because you dont know how to press record.

yeah I did notice but it hasn't bothered me because over the last year I have had more stuff to watch than I have had time for. I have checked a couple of sources and this time it looks for real, put Thursday 1st August on your calendar.
