Broadband down, 13 hours and counting

Looks like VM are having issues again. London, certainly area 20, and other parts of the country have a complete loss if service.

ETA for fix 16:00 today 15th July according to their status doodad page.

Just an observation if anyone was wondering.

Mine has been off and on for the last two weeks. Off for the whole day on Wednesday. Off again tonight for a few hours. Wtf is going on?

Liverpool had an outage for a few hours, looks like it was fixed about 30 minutes ago.

Actually had some issues here a few hours ago, but only on sites outside of the UK.

Off again this morning. Ridiculous.

Mine has been up and down the last few days but is really bad this morning. I'm in the Teesside area, anyone else around here having problems?

I'm in Co Durham no issues with the broadband for a few weeks now phone-lines were off and on here for 3 days earlier in the week

I think the biggest issue is too many people are getting connection to the network and it can't cope

I'm in Liverpool. Internet went down at roughly 10pm last night. Came back up for all of half an hour (If that) then went down again. Has been intermittent ever since. Finally fully down again. Service status says that apparently will be fixed around 4pm.

Phoning them has been.... Challenging to say the least.

been having problems in South London also - intermittent connectivity this evening - loss of sync T3/T4 errors and loss of both upstream channels (all 16 downstreams stay locked) then then a full sync loss. Seems stable again now - but been very intermittent from late afternoon.

Is it possible to check for T3/T4 errors on the hub 3 like you can on super hub 2?

Re: Broadband down, 13 hours and counting

T3/T4 are one of the very few things reported in a Hub 3.0 log.

Certainly the Liverpool outages seem more like core network issues rather than local node problems. Modem was still connected to the VM network, nothing looked amiss, there was simply no internet connectivity.

That would more like be poor SNRs on either downstreams (maybe a faulty amplifier) or extremely poor upstream SNRs

I assume you meant that in relation to the post I made about loss of upstreams..... I am on the business service and business faults confirmed an area issue affecting it.

What I have noticed today I have 24 downstream channels, which was 16 before today. There was planned work under C00831699 today, which I assume was this. There is further planned work for the 19th under ref C00831704. The business team are good at sending out emails in advance to warm of planned work that will be service affecting.

Still only 2 upstreams though. No idea if the are 16QAM or 64 QAM as the Hitron only shows this on the downstreams. The upstream details are below. I am still getting the odd reported upstream frequencies. A 3rd upstream is available as sometimes that one appears instead of one of these two, but never all three together.

Speedtests show upstream congestion at the moment - not getting much above 9-10 Mb/s up on a 20 Mb/s upstream service - but get close to 360 Mb/s down usually.

Port Frequency (Hz) BandWidth Modulation Power (dBmV) Channel
1 37600004 6400000 ATDMA 43.250 1
2 30999991 6400000 ATDMA 41.750 2

Nope was in relation to skies comment about modem being locked on but not passing any traffic. But in regards to the C00 number that is a change number so your extra downstreams will be due to that work

Re: Broadband down, 13 hours and counting

Got it - thanks for the info. Hopefully the 2nd change will be to do something about upstream capacity :-)
