Details of what will be shown on Sky Sports Mix.

The launch date of Sky Sports Mix is the 24th Aug at 12pm. It will show live European Golf, EFL and Cricket in the first week:

This is the schedule for the first 3 days:

The live sport on Sky Sports Mix during those 3 days is as follows:

Wed 24 Aug:
1.30pm - Live ODI cricket: England v Pakistan

Thur 25 Aug:
10.30am - Live European Tour golf: Made in Denmark (1st session)
2.30pm - Live European Tour golf: Made in Denmark (2nd session)

Fri 26 Aug:
10.30am - Live European Tour golf: Made in Denmark (1st session)
2.30pm - Live European Tour golf: Made in Denmark (2nd session)
7.00pm - Live EFL: Burton v Derby

The channel runs for 24 hours per day so there is also a whole host of highlights and filler programming - including ODI highlights and EFL Cup highlights.

The following week. Live sport is as follows:

Sat 27 Aug:
8am – Live Rugby Union – New Zealand v Australia
12pm – Live F1 – Belgium GP Qualifying
7.15pm – Live La Liga – Real Madrid v Celta Vigo
12.30am – Live MLS – Toronto v Montreal

Sun 28 Aug:
11.30am – Live F1 – Belgium GP Race

Thur 1 Sept:
7.30pm – Live Super league – Wigan v Widnes

No live sport on Mon 29 Aug, Tue 30 Aug, Wed 31 Aug or Fri 2 Sep.

During the 7 days from 27/08/16 to 02/09/16 in addition to the live sport posted above there will be:

- European Tour golf highlights
- F1 Show
- EFL Goals
- Goals on Sunday
- South Africa v New Zealand Test cricket highlights
- England v Pakistan ODI cricket highlights
- Netball Superleague Grand Final replay (ie not live)

However no PL Game of the Day, Match Choice or PL highlights programmes (other than what is shown within Goals on Sunday).

The first 10 days so far suggests that there is going to be a lot of variation - so we just don't know what will be on in subsequent weeks.

Looking at the first 5 days (ie Wed 24 Aug to Sun 28 Aug) it's possible they have started very strongly to make an impact and that the amount of live sport will then start to reduce, but we'll have to wait and see.

According to an advisor, all Now TV subscribers are set to receive Sky Sports Mix as a teaser channel.

What do sports fans (of which i'm not a great fan) think of this lineup?

Not bad for free I suppose. A real mix of sports. I hope that they show some free boxing on the channel.

I took out Sky Sports for the England rugby tour of Australia and thanks to a decent package offer I've kept it since. Seeing that line-up, it would be enough to make me reconsider keeping the paid-for to be honest - it's coverage of the Rugby Championship that's my justification at the moment.

I can see where your coming from. If you've got TV XL, with BT Sports included, I think SKY Sports Mix and what's on Freeview and Eurosport would keep most sports fans content. For me it would make if very easy to justify dropping SKY Sports if I was a subscriber.

My prayers might have been answered. Here's a snap I found online from the SKY press conference from a few months ago.

Boxing is in there! I've got high hopes. The others sports featuring in the picture, apart from netball, are featuring on the channel in the first couple of weeks. The boxing season doesn't start in the UK until mid-September so fingers crossed.

If i remember right they committed to 10 premier league games a season and i think 20 EFL games. I also thought WWE was going to be on the channel in some form

There was a post in another thread talking about Sky need to balance enough to tempt non-subscribers to pay, while not giving too much that paid-for customers feel hacked off.

Based on that first week's listings for me, they're right on that line. Giving the benefit of the doubt that it's just to make a strong-start, but it's the same theory I suppose as VM packaging - keeping enough in the top-XL tier to make it worth the extra.

Maybe you ought to reconsider and cancel.

If everyone stopped paying for sport we'd all get it for free.

It makes me laugh when they say its for free as three price rises this year tell me nothing is free.

It used to be free before greedy Sky became involved.

There's now a promo for Sky Sports Mix in the Discovery Bar confirming that it starts on Wednesday.

I guess the launch of this channel sees the end of temporary free periods on the main Sky Sports channels.

Looks like they're being quite consistent in showing All Blacks rugby games... no need to pay for the SS package to have those games.
