Tivo rebooting

Is anyone else getting their TiVo box rebooting about 1-2 minutes after it fully restarts. It's been doing it all morning to me.

There is a thread on vm community as its not just me but no replies yet from vm apart from a fault on their status page.

Mine did once ,about 0915, rebooted but now it's got a network connection error, no catchup or on demand.

It's a national fault and is under investigation.

AH, covered by F003809631 I guess?

I thought that was just a local fault to me, heh. Waking up to Money on 5 Live isn't easy when the box resets every 2 minutes! :p

Hopefully whatever gremlins have invaded can be terminated shortly.

I thought initially my TiVo was on it's way out, or it was a software update foible causing a boot loop. My phone sympathised, it got itself caught in it's own reboot cycle this morning too, oops.

Mine rebooted twice as well, nice to see this is a known fault and not my box on the way out.

According to my Service Status page, there are 3 known issues.

Booting and rebooting due to be fixed by today at 17:00
OD service not working due to be fixed by today at 14:40
TV Anywhere app timing out during login due to be fixed by today at 17:00

Spider, mate. If you have ANY influence over the VM 'Staff' on their community page then give them a nudge to at least acknowledge the existence of the corresponding thread over there...

They are utterly useless.

At the moment my recording planner and ondemand on my tivo box are not working at the moment. But TV, Broadband and phoneline are working as normal.

Same error. Getting an A01 errors now after getting the C133 errors earlier. Its national? Thought it was just local.

Sorry, they are a totally different part of the company.

Three different symptoms but all with the same underlying cause. As I've said before, take the estimated fix times with a large pinch of salt. It's very rare to know how long a fault will take to fix until it's actually fixed.

In the end it was fixed at about 12:30, though would have taken longer for all boxes to recover.

C133 was a symptom of the national fault, but A01 is something different. Try giving your box a reboot. You'll have to give VM a call if a reboot doesn't resolve it.

I already called this morning. We have a different fault reference to the other one F003810269 on the server status page . Spoke to 2nd line support and he said he could see exactly was wrong and I will get a call when its fixed.

The network connecting in settings etc sometimes go through. Other times it gives a C133 error a service not found. So my errors where different each time.

Edit: mine is now fixed.

Anyone else getting this happening to them today? Rebooted 5 times in 15 minutes here. Is this another national fault or is this my box on the way out?

It's the same fault that happened last Thursday. It's being worked on.

Yeah called 150, and they said it was affecting the Luton and Stevenage areas. Sitting tight and waiting now for it to be fixed.

Makes sense, we're on your Headend here.

I hope whatever is happening doesn't make a habit of itself and can be fixed once and for all.

Have your boxes stopped rebooting now?

philipp 31-07-2015 21:01

My tivo box says network availbilty. I checked virgin medias website and it said that it should be fixed at 12am tonight or 12pm tomorrow 1st August 2015.

After the issues mine gave a network problem for two days until I did a reboot then everything was OK

Re: Tivo rebooting

My box has over the last few days started to randomly reboot itself (did it last night during Rugby :( ) ... there it goes again just now... then takes about 10 minutes to sort itself out and load up to the TV channel. It's happening on average about every 2hrs now.

I called 150 and have an engineer coming out Monday. I was wondering as one of the early adopters of the TiVo is it now coming to the end of it's lifecycle and is the hard disk failing? This might be a common fault for other customers as time goes on. Anyway hopefully it will be resolved on Monday.

Could be, but there are a couple of other known faults on the early TiVos that can cause rebooting too. Whatever, it'll probably end up being replaced.

There isn't much correlation between hard drive failure and age. Some fail early and just seem to go on and on and on.

(By the way, this is totally unconnected to the other posts in this thread. Those reboots were caused by a software fault which is now fixed)
