Virgin Mobile systems downtime till Monday 30th March

From today until Monday, Virgin Media mobile systems are down for an upgrade www.virginmedia.com/systems

Re: Virgin Mobile systems downtime till Monday 30th March

Not the mobile system, but the online mobile billing and account access system.

About time they sorted out the ridiculous payment system ,not being able to pay the correct amount was just crazy

The new look Virgin Mobile website is now up-and-running. I tried to log in, but it doesn't accept my previous virginmobile.com user/pass, or the U/P that I use for virginmedia.com.
Anyone else had a problem, or successfully logged in?

much needed improvement :) now if only they could link both the Virgin Media and Virgin Mobile accounts together...

Try resetting your password. I believe there is a known change where the new login will pick up on the case of the password set, whereas the old online one ignored it.

Re: Virgin Mobile systems downtime till Monday 30th March

About time this went back online, tried looking at my app on phone this morning to see how near my limit I am. Still got to get to April 16 and think I am already down to 100 MB or less in mobile data.

---------- Post added at 21:53 ---------- Previous post was at 21:50 ----------

I had 2 phones linked to my login details last week, now only 1 phone account showing. Do I need to register the number again?

---------- Post added at 21:55 ---------- Previous post was at 21:53 ----------

Tried adding it, says linked already but cannot see it. What a bloody cock up by Virgin. Why ruin a functioning website and make it worse?

Re: Virgin Mobile systems downtime till Monday 30th March

It's not just the website that's been changed, all the mobile account systems have been updated.

White menu bar under the VM logo - left hand option to change 'Account'

Very misleading when it tells me I've unlimited mins when I know that's only to other VM mobiles.

Cheers

It looks a lot better and is also a lot faster and more responsive. However there are still somethings not working correctly and not showing the correct info. My wifes phone is showing as a Galaxy S2 however it was upgraded twice since then.

MalteseFalcon 31-03-2015 09:54

Re: Virgin Mobile systems downtime till Monday 30th March

Looking there, and still showing only my phone and not the second phone that is also linked to the login details. What a stupid upgrade if things are showing wrong or not showing at all.

Appreciate that there may be some temporary issues, but I'm sure they will be fixed.

Re: Virgin Mobile systems downtime till Monday 30th March

What a cock up!
To start with it wouldn't accept my password and had to reset it. I'm on Addict tariff it don't seem to like it. It only shows how much data I have no minutes or text. And it shows a phone I had about ten years ago.
When will VM change something and it works?

Re: Virgin Mobile systems downtime till Monday 30th March

Agree. I complained to them on Twitter and they reckon the majority of customers like the new look site. Don't know who they asked or if they even tried using the site before doing the survey.

The phone app is just the same shows data but nothing else

Well, let's hope it's this month sometime:mad:

Re: Virgin Mobile systems downtime till Monday 30th March

It's showing my mb allowance has dropped to 100mb left and I haven't even got Mobile data switched on because I was worried this might happen. What the hell is going on here? I'm sure if it goes over my allowance, I'll have a job convincing VM that it's wrong!

MalteseFalcon 04-04-2015 08:40

Re: Virgin Mobile systems downtime till Monday 30th March

I'm down to 13 MB, which seems a bit steep considering I haven't used my mobile data more than previous months and the closest I got to my limit was 102 MB left. Seems to be an almighty cock up by Virgin. Why change it when it worked fine before?

hansi 04-04-2015 08:54

Re: Virgin Mobile systems downtime till Monday 30th March

If you look at your usage on the mobile website, you'll see that the 2nd April shows on every page of your plan and on each of those pages they have taken part of your allowance, so if they keep doing that every day, you'll be owing them! Absolutely ridiculous!

MalteseFalcon 04-04-2015 11:25

Re: Virgin Mobile systems downtime till Monday 30th March

I have now used all my allowance, got to get to 16th April without using mobile data. If they try charging for mobile data usage from today then I will be making a complaint to the CEO about it.

Still cannot see any other numbers that were linked to my account, and Virgin reckon that customers are full of praise for the new site. They must be asking friends of David Blunkett because no sane person would say that the site is an improvement on the old one. Why change a site that functioned perfectly well for the majority of people?

martyh 04-04-2015 11:34

Re: Virgin Mobile systems downtime till Monday 30th March

My account is showing an older plan that I'm no longer on so I'm confused as to what the usage bars are even there for. Can't really complain though because the older plan is cheaper than the one I'm now :)

How to shoot yourself in the foot by VM :D

MalteseFalcon 04-04-2015 11:38

Re: Virgin Mobile systems downtime till Monday 30th March

Just sent a complaint to them through Twitter. They called me Mike when I am called Mark, so I said if they can't even get names right how can they get designing a site right?

Stephen 04-04-2015 12:36

Re: Virgin Mobile systems downtime till Monday 30th March

IMO the new site is well screwed up. Its showing my 4 contracts but all of them show a much older handset than the one I actually have and the allowances on two are totally incorrect, however after calling and confirming the allowances I have are not at all what the site states.

I have a Galaxy S5 on one of the contracts but the site states I still have an S2 which was a number of years ago.

The mobile app also shows my allowances to be correct on each phone. Don't know how they managed to screw this new site up so much.

MalteseFalcon 04-04-2015 12:43

Re: Virgin Mobile systems downtime till Monday 30th March

Just tried to call and apparently systems are down. If it wasn't such a screw up I'd say the new site was a very elaborate April Fools joke.

Re: Virgin Mobile systems downtime till Monday 30th March

Yip must be down as I can't log in at all.

No error it just doesn't work.

It makes no difference if you use your mobile daa or not. I have mine switched off and it's still decreasing daily.

Hmm, looks like a complaint letter is being drafted tonight then.

Every time I phone to cancel one of my mobile accounts the CSA informs me their systems are down...how do they run that business...?

MalteseFalcon 07-04-2015 20:02

Re: Virgin Mobile systems downtime till Monday 30th March

They can't. It is stupid, cannot believe they ruined that site.

hansi 08-04-2015 08:25

Re: Virgin Mobile systems downtime till Monday 30th March

I have just had another look at my usage, bearing in mind that the system is not working, but every day I get another page added to my usage and it's exactly the same as all the others except that 2nd April appears quiite a number of time on each page. What the hell is going on here!

dilli-theclaw 08-04-2015 09:01

Re: Virgin Mobile systems downtime till Monday 30th March

Still not working properly here either I wonder if they are sorting it all out any time soon.

MalteseFalcon 08-04-2015 09:30

Re: Virgin Mobile systems downtime till Monday 30th March

I gave them an absolute roasting on Twitter about it and they said they were passing my feedback onto the team responsible for the site and they apologised about the difficulties that I had been having with it. I think if they don't get it sorted anytime soon I will be finding out the CEO address for Mobile side and writing them an email of complaint.

If it wasn't so late still, I'd be saying this is an elaborate April Fools joke. If it is, then it is damn well not funny.

I'm seriously thinking about calling their leaving us line and giving them an absolute roasting over this. Not good enough.

Re: Virgin Mobile systems downtime till Monday 30th March

Its working for me. The only problem I have found is when trying to look at a second phone when it acts up. The bit on the left where they list the individual phones seems to be very erratic in the way it works and tries to make you login again and then complains you are already logged it.

Consider it work in progress but perseverance does give you what you want.

I doubt they would see online account access as a reason for letting you leave. There is their app and also CS if you need to check your account.

It isn't life or death surely. Yes its annoying but I'm not all that bothered.

I have apparently £77 pounds worth of charges, had to make an online payment called up and nobody can see what it is or why!
