Poldark is an adaptation of a series of novels. Adaptations are apt to be repeated, over and over. This is the third time Poldark has been made for TV - ITV had a go about 15 years ago IIRC. The BBC famously commissioned a new adaptation of Pride and Prejudice 15 years after their previous attempt, which itself had followed 13 years after the BBC's original adaptation in 1967. Colin Firth is the third actor to play Mr Darcy for the BBC. |
