Re: BBC apps updated on TiVo
Well in my book this is a big improvement on what we had before in all aspects.:tu:

Re: BBC apps updated on TiVo
I gave up on BBC iplayer ages ago due to the stuttering. Will try again later.

Re: BBC apps updated on TiVo
Just gave BBC iplayer a go in HD and sadly I am still seeing the spinning circle every couple of minutes, so no improvement here . I will stick with samsung smart blueray player.

Re: BBC apps updated on TiVo
Yes these are the new HTML5 apps and so far seem to work a lot better and smoother.

I presume we also have the 30 days worth of catch up now. Update Just checked - all seems to work perfectly and no juddering on HD! Brilliant, I've missed not using the i-Player! |
Re: BBC apps updated on TiVo
watched top gear yesterday although It played all thru with no purple buffering circle it did take a good 90 secs / 2 mins to start.
so an improvement but not perfect. |

If that doesn't work, it might now be worth a call to CS. |

Re: BBC apps updated on TiVo
Never had any problems with iPlayer but got back from work today and the folks have said they have been trying to watch "BBC catchup" (as they call it) and it kept stopping and pausing and the spinning circle kept appearing. They managed to watch the programmes but were quite annoyed.
I assumed it was just VM having some network problems (I note my broadband has been down twice today around midday for a few minutes both times) but with the reports above of an iPlayer update I will keep an eye on it! |

Re: BBC apps updated on TiVo
The 'fast forward' is a bit weird on the i-Player. There are different speeds and it runs quite fast, but the picture remains paused while it happens and there is no indication of where you are in the process. You just have to guess how far into the programme you are, and when you press play you find out! Not sure if it's meant to work like this, it looks like work in progress to me!

Re: BBC apps updated on TiVo
BBC iplayer is now working fine for me after a reboot of TiVo.

The Netflix start up is still painfully slow! |

It's because it's an internet stream so the fast forward actually just skips to the appropriate time point, rather than streaming the entire programme to the point you want Netflix works the same way, they've just added some stills into it to help you work out where you are. |

With the new one, it is a total guesstimate! |

Re: BBC apps updated on TiVo
I much prefer the new fast forward/rewind. Previously it jumped in random intervals starting from one minute and now it works as fast forward/rewind normally does.
Unfortunately still having some buffering issues in HD but it is better than before. |

There is a separate radio app from the BBC. |
