I am actually ashamed to be British over this whole business. We as a country have some lost lovely people due to IS sickening terror, brought sadness onto the families of those involved.

We have been too slow to get involved in sending in troops. Too slow to act.

And yet, the tragic Jordanian pilot. Who was savagely murdered by IS. Jordan acted the same day. And executed many prisoners that they had - they didn't muck about, they carried out actions.

We have to get involved and stop messing about. People have gone from this country, to fight for IS. They must not be allowed to return, and commit this crime in this country.

Cameron, Clegg and Miliband. Get off your backside and demand more action against IS

The most effective action to take against IS is the action you're probably not going to hear about.

You don't need to destroy everything in order to cut the head off the snake.

We have SAS in this country, who are supposed to be the best in World, and the USA have there elite units.

The wars have taken enough of our soliders why are you so quick to send them to death, I for one do NOT want to see any troops sent there to fight on the ground.

If the stupid people who leave to fight ISIS let them and when they try and come back here shoot them.

I am sick to death of lossing our soliders is wars that are started by sick ********s, I say just bomb the whole country and then ISIS would be defeated.

The IS issue is largely an internal one amongst the Islamic world. They are having a 'civil war' which we should, to a large extent, keep out of.

There is no benefit to us going balls to the wall there. They need to sort this between the various Islamic sects.

Should they show signs of becoming a genuine threat to us via, for example, nearing the acquisition of WMD or getting uncomfortably close to a member of the NATO alliance or the EU/EFTA/EEA they can, and will, be dealt with.

If you want an idea of how poisonous the in-fighting between sects is right now look no further than this.

These were two Sunni groups. Same general 'flavour'.

The islamic countries have been very good at letting the West fight the battles whilst reaping the rewards. It's time for them to show they themselves care for their fellow islamists by wiping out this vile group of gangsters.

The whole situation is bizarre, with terrorists fighting terrorists (PKK fighting IS) so the fallout at the end of this latest Middle Eastern debacle will be interesting to say the least.

Yup, it's time for oil rich countries to start using their resources to fight the enemy within. We can support, guide and offer intelligence but the time has come for their boots and equipment to be on the ground and in the air. We have plenty to do worrying about and dealing with the threat these Islamic extremists pose at home.

I was thinking that when I read that article.

Being nuked isn't the punishment for blasphemy just yet and they don't have any intermediate or long range missiles so we'll be alright for at least a few hours while it escalates.
