According to Premier Sports' Facebook page on 1 October "We are also working on HD channel for SKY and should have some news on a timeline for that soon." (I assume this would come to VM soon afterwards.) ITV Be added on channel 119 overnight, bloody channel being added caused a recording to be split in two. Not happy.

Also notice no HD variant of Be, I suppose SKY have snaffled that exclusively again, like they did with 2 3 and 4?

Anything on TruTv MB or has it all gone quiet?? I thought some agreement would have been done by now. i was going to ask a few more questions but i'm terrified if they're classed as "chit chat" its really putting me off posting anything at all on cable forum recently. Maybe thats the aim.

I still wondering why the sky sports news hd deal is taking so long to kick in too. did we ever find out why?

Is there any news on the True channels - True Movies One is on the VM network, what about '2'

I am always watching the True Channels, best channels on the VM Network by far.

Over on Sky. ITV's always stated it will be exclusive to Sky for an initial period, thought to be 18 months or so. After that it is expected to join the other pay-TV platforms like VM and TT.

Sadly not. If a deal has been made about SA, which I thought was a real possibility last year as you know, it would be coming with the 2015 Sky channel launches on VM.

If it doesn't come then, I think we will have a very long wait.

Read earlier in the summer some rumor about attheraces HD, I guess has to come to Sky first but would really like this channel and Racing UK in HD! hopefully next year something happens but been saying this for a couple of years now :(

I guess both don't wish to pay extra in getting it delivered in HD, had plenty of teasers a few years ago from RUK and then ATR mentioning HD ready studio, time will tell.

Base on information I have seen some new channels are set to launch in the next five months.

I know they names and launch date but I am waiting on an other insider confirmed it.

Viacom to launch new channel Spike in 2015
 

Viacom will seek space on VM and Sky next year for its male-orientated reality channel Spike. On Freeview, it will displace Viva. However, Viva will continue to be available on VM and Sky.
Looks like the men's equivalent of ITV Be to me.

Media Boy EXCLUSIVE: Three new HD channels is set to launch on Virgin Media by February 2015.

Base on information given to me yesterday by Virgin Media Source the follow is set to happen on Virgin Media:

November 2014:
-An HD Channel is set to launch on Virgin Media this month.

January 2015:
-Sky News HD and Sky Sports News HD are both set to launch on Virgin Media this month.

NOTE: I do not work for Virgin Media so all the information on this post is still subject to change.

But we know that Virgin and Turner Broadcasting System Europe Ltd is rumoured to be in talks over Tru TV so maybe for all we know we may get CNN HD (Virgin Exclusive?) as part of deal.

But I have seen no confirmed information on CNN HD launching any time soon.

Sure, but that's the whole point of having hundreds of channels - not every channel appeals to everyone, and the more channels you get, the more this will happen.

Viacom to launch Spike TV in UK, hoping to secure distribution on Virgin Media

Viacom is to launch male-skewing US channel Spike TV, home to shows such as Bar Rescue, on Freeview.

The broadcaster, which acquired Channel 5 for £450m in May, will replace entertainment channel Viva with Spike TV in the first quarter of 2015, although its channel slot is yet to be decided. Viva will continue to air on pay-TV platforms Sky and Virgin Media.

Spike TV will carry a raft of US factual formats including Eyeworks USA-produced Bar Rescue (pictured), which currently airs on 5*, as well as repeats of Channel 5 factual series such as Cowboy Builders and Police Interceptors.

The channel will be overseen by C5 which has kicked off a hunt for a channel manager to report to director of programmes Ben Frow.

Viacom is also hoping to secure distribution on Virgin Media and Freesat for Spike TV and plans to use the UK launch as a stepping stone to further international launches.

Media Boy HQ has not been given confirmed name of that channel set to launch in November on Virgin Media. but we are working with ITVBe HD base on info we have seen online over the last few days.

If it ITVBe HD it will launch on November 2nd - Due to that being an Sunday I think it will launch on week starting November 3rd.

(Was given November 2nd launch date by Virgin Media sources on Tuesday).

Plus Sky Sports HQ HD and Sky News HD launch date as of right now was given as set to launch on New Years Day.

WHERE WILL ITVBE +1 AND ITVBE HD BROADCAST?

No confirmed channel numbers yet but we at Media Boy HQ think Virgin Media will give them the following channel numbers:

Yup. A quick look at the mini epg shows me that "Utterly Outrageous Celebrity Bodies" is currently on, followed by "TOWIE" and then at midnight "Jesreylicious".

The only show I have heard of, out of those three is TOWIE. I doubt I am missing much though.

Channel number for Sky News HD not confirmed - but MB HQ would think so.

Maybe Sky give Virgin that Sky2 logo.

Also we have also noted that Sky are still broadcasting the Sky1 +1 logo on Sky1 when WWE Superstars is on - Sky1 +1 is NOT even on Virgin Media.

If a deal has been done with VM (as it has in this case) there is no reason why VM cannot show the channel from the launch date, even if it is a Sunday.

I seem to recall that the Disney Channel was launched on a Sunday.

I don't really care. If I want to see only HD channels on my EPG, I just select 'HD' instead of 'all channels'.

Personally, I don't understand all this preoccupation with channel numbers, it doesn't concern me in the least. Maybe that's just me!

Not just you. I hardly know any of the channel numbers but this is probably because I don't use the guide very often. I mainly use the search to find shows and set recordings, then just watch them from My Shows.

Maybe they could add a channel name search like in the TV Anywhere App.

Not sure how long it has been advertized on the TIVO, but The Walking Dead boxset seasons 1-4 will be on TV on demand from Sunday 12th Oct. Looking forward to watching those bad boys again:-)

Unless is states somewhere else on that article that they are coming soon they don't have Sky Sports New or Sky News in HD right now either.

EDIT or is that just a select few channels they say they have in SD or HD?

The latter. That scan shows 34 popular channels including SD only channels like Dave. The logos for Sky Sports News HQ and Sky News are not the HD logos. Unlike Sky 2 which clearly is. However, the advert doesn't show the BBC and ITV HD logos so they are underselling themselves there.
