If you want to get rid of your TiVo but keep VM TV then your only other option is the V HD box which doesn't have any recording features. If you want to get rid of VM TV altogether then providing you've completed your minimum contract them you should be able to cancel.

You don't mention what services you currently have but just be aware that if you take a bundle from VM and remove one element, the price quite often does not go down much.

The normal monthly difference between TiVo and the V HD is £5 a month, but remember you'll lose more than just recording.

The V HD doesn't have access to apps such as Spotify, Netflix, the iPlayer app, BBC Connected Red Button etc.

Not having access to the flaky iPlayer app is a bonus. The catch up on the VHD is far more reliable.

My TiVo Iplayer is well dodgy, only plays sd. Every time i change it to HD it makes everbody on the tv do a break-dance routine!

Hopefully, the new version of the i-Player will sort these problems out.

It's server based and VM or the bbc seem to blame the other party

Did not say there were no problems - I said I had not encountered any ....

I don't know what it is - I've always had a sneaky suspicion that it was something to do with signal strength.

Hit and miss for me. I have had times where the above has happened, it is incredibly annoying when you have to reboot the TiVo. And this from a customer that doesn't keep his TiVo on 24/7 so it gets reboots daily.

Is there a reason why you keep turning it off? This may be causing you all sorts of problems. Why not leave it on for a few days and see the difference this makes?

I only keep the SH2 on 24/7. There is no need to keep the TiVo on 24/7.

Really? The 5+ minute boot time and time taken to load up all the EPG data is enough to put me off. Just put it in standby it doesn't consume an incredible amount since the last software update

Re: get rid of this tivo

The tivo isn't designed to be turned off, it's supposed to be always on.

There is - as your later link shows.

If you want to reduce the power it uses, go into Home->Settings->Devices and enable power saving.
