Re: Very low speed

I'm told by TS that these downstreams are 90% overloaded, the guy was a brilliant Welsh guy and was very helpfull

swin-cmts-15-cabledownstream10/6/0
swin-cmts-15-cabledownstream10/6/1

Is there any way to confirm this

Re: Very low speed

A TBB ping monitor would confirm this.

Re: Very low speed

Url for the broadband monitor http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ping/monitors.html

You also need to make sure you allow ping from WAN or you will get a big block of red in the graph.

Is this using wired or wireless ?

Re: Very low speed

Both, no difference in wired or wireless - i've tried it in peak and no peak

Re: Very low speed

yeah I was going to say, there looks like there is a majoy issue with congestion on your segement because your latency just to the cmts (first hop) is huge, mine is 7ms. The congestion between you and the cmts is what is buggering everything else up afterwards.

Re: Very low speed

Yeah figures, they said the UBR is what is overloaded

General Maximus 05-03-2014 00:42

Re: Very low speed

Yup, and that is something they should be fixing pronto because they monitor the load and utilisation

Re: Very low speed

Well according to the tech bloke its atleast 6 months - it was fine until I upgraded to 100mb - as was on 60MB and enjoying it. Really bad isn't it..

Exact same thing has happened to me (I'm in Belfast). I got the early upgrade from 60Mb to 100Mb and the speeds aren't hitting anywhere near it. Upload is fine, download fluctuates between 20-70Mb.

This is currently my graph:

A guy is coming out this Saturday to check it out.

Re: Very low speed

Yours is just the same, as mine. Maybe the network isn't ready.. I dunno. Shall give VM a call again today

---------- Post added at 09:52 ---------- Previous post was at 09:45 ----------

Wow - good news, just spoke to TS - they are fixing the issue today and should be fixed by 11.05 - pretty happy with that, I only reported it on the 3rd

General Maximus 05-03-2014 11:40

Re: Very low speed

if it does get fixed today it means something else was wrong and it wasnt a capacity issue. I am hoping it does get fixed today because it looked like a capacity issue that was prevalent years ago when they just massively over subscribed areas. It isn't good enough for todays standards and if they left it 6 months to fix the network would have ground to a halt with all the speed increases they are doing.

Dont think it has been fixed: https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/...2014/03/62.png

Seems its "better" but 48MB off

Re: Very low speed

Good old VM, give everyone a free speed increase/remove traffic management, then upgrade the network to cope just in time before the next speed upgrade.

At least that's how it worked before I left.

Seems they gave it too me, to attempt to keep me as a customer - however, its just annoyed me.
