Most people that know about batteries are saying Sanyo Eneloop are the ones to go for, there are different versions of it, check the reviews.

eneloop is a combination of a rechargeable and a disposable battery the next evolutionary step for batteries into the 21st century. SANYO can ship the batteries to Amazon in an already charged state, without losing its power, because of it very low self-discharge. This means that you are purchasing an already charged battery.
eneloop is as user-friendly as a disposable battery. Once charged, it keeps its charge for up to 6 to 12 months - (90 per cent of the charge after 6 months, 85 per cent after 12 months)
In contrast to a disposable battery, eneloop can be charged up to 1000 times, thus eliminating the waste of 999 disposable batteries.

Using eneloop rechargeable batteries really does pay off. Considering the cost of the eneloop battery, compared to a disposable battery, plus cost for the charger and the energy consumed by the charger, the investment for one eneloop returns easily after a few charging cycles. Now there's an end to this spending.

Re: AAA Batteries

Regulations now make the air transport of lithium batteries difficult, so sourcing from abroad is now a big problem. So we get ripped-off with UK prices now as they are often a monopoly.

NiMh is where the technology is improving quickly as SnoopZ said.

There are a lot of fakes out there though.

You can ship lithium batteries by air but you have to follow very strict regulations.

A friend ships unit that have lithium batteries, and he has to follow tight regulations.

keep an eye on hotukdeals, there are regularly deals posted there, with reputable ebay and amazon resellers doing good deals on Duracell procells, Sanyo eneloop etc.

this site

http://www.batteryshowdown.com/

has a good rundown on AA batteries, maybe they'll do AAA in the future.

8 x Panasinic AAA from the pound shop, ideal for remote controls, LED torches and wireless door bells. I use a single AA for my nose and ear trimmer, lasts ages.

Re: AAA Batteries

The PoundShop wont have the power required mate.

Its out of

Sanyo Eneloop AAA 4 Pack Batteries
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sanyo-Eneloo.../dp/B000IDWDKO

or

Varta Ready2Use Rechargeable Micro Ni-Mh AAA Batteries 1000 mAh Pack of 4
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Varta-Ready2...a+rechargeable

I'm leaning towards the Varta pack.

Also I need something that is £1.01 or more add-on to trigger supersaver delivery. could anyone recommend anything ?

Eneloops or Eneloop Extra if you can get them.

http://www.7dayshop.com/7dayshop-goo...-850mah-4-pack
"Good to go" is 7dayshop's own brand long shelf life / precharged NiMH
There are also Duracell duralock
Energizer ACCU Extreme
GP Ekopower (lower capacity) or Recyko

These days, pretty much every battery maker has a precharge / long storage model, and the big name Eneloops that were once the only entry in this field, are likely to be the expensive option.

PS. if the poundshop 8 are ZnCl, then the 6x Polaroid AAA alkaline from 99p Store have them beat every which way

Re: AAA Batteries

there isn't much in price difference really. i did however find these...

7dayshop Rechargeable AAA (HR03 / MN2400) NiMh Batteries (1100mAh) - Pack of 4

Those are £4.29, higher capacity, but don't specify the long charge retention - the "Good to Go" are £3.49, but are only 850mAH

Of course, there's also the 99p / pound shop rechargeables - very low in capacity - while stated to be NiMH, the capacities are more like NiCD - at 350mAH for the AAA - and while described as precharged ready to use, it's unclear if they really are:

http://www.ultramaxbatteries.com/Pro...ack._2651.aspx
Ultramax's own page says "charge before use", while the pack says "ready to use"

The above arrived in packs of 2 pre-charged although I did still put them in the charger until fully charged which was around 2 hours. I've used them in a Wilkinson trimmer and then in a camera taking many random pictures still the battery indicator says 2/3 charge left.

I read Varta and Bosch have close ties ?
