Microsoft have extended the free Games with Gold promotion on the 360 indefinitely.

I hope they eventually do something like this on the Xbox One too, although i think it will be a while before that happens.

I think it's most likely going to be a very long while - how can MS give away five year old Xbox One games that everyone already has if the console hasn't even been released yet? ;) :(

I really hope MS improves this... While it's a nice gesture, it's pretty crap when compared to PS+.

Thats a great couple of games.

I had a loan of Sleeping dogs on release but never bought it and would like to complete it.

Tomb Raider was the Live multiplayer game I think.

I'd not actually heard of Sleeping Dogs, so just looked it up on Wikipedia.

It was critically acclaimed when it came out... *and* is actually very recent (2012), which I found surprising - makes a change from the usual 3-5 year old stuff MS has been giving away.

It was a great game in principle but had a few flaws. The sequal fixed a lot and was better IMO. Still I am glad I will have a chance to finally complete the game now.

I bought Strike Suit Zero when it came out. It gets repetitive, but it's pretty good in short doses.

To give away the first episode of a series like Telltale have done with Walking Dead and Wolf Among Us is good marketing, but to do this with the games with gold promo is just insulting

At least you have two games. Xbox One only gets one a month and currently aren't the greatest as the console is only 1 year old.

Well there are technically two but one game seems to stick around for two months then after a month another game is added and then after a month the first leaves and another is added.

Gold on One needs to start having some proper games and not just indy games.

They could surely start using games like Ryse or Dead Rising or other games from the console release window.

Those games are already on the X1, so don't need to be converted.

My guess is they want to build up a large catalogue before giving games like that out for free, but i wish they would.

I tend to have to keep deleting a game to download these at 6gb+ a go.
BUt doing this means that I can then re download it at any time later on, so it's essential to download it during the freebie time.

You don't need to actually download it, you just have to purchase it and add it to your queue.

You can connect upto 3 HDD IIRC so a minimum of 1.5TB should be more than enough :D

2TB is around 100 games

Starting from July Games with Gold will offer 2 new games on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 each month, so we get 4 games in total.

I hope the 2 Xbox 360 games get added to the Xbox One backwards compatibility list!

Yea you need to activate the 360 games for the X1 from xbox.com .. i tried to do it from the edge browser on the X1 but it never seamed to activate the download.

Officially you can do it via the browser but as always it is a little weird. Remember you must have a valid payment method registered (Credit card etc) to get the Xbox 360 games even though they are free. You do not need to for Xbox One games with Gold which makes things even more confusing.

Also, I have Van Helsing on Steam but looking forward to trying the Xbox One Version. I hope the port is good, as it..isn't out yet?

It looks like you maybe right, that is messed up seeing the games are free.

Maybe if we search for thr games on the X1 they will show up and enable to dowload for people that don't want to put a payment option in?

I tried that and it still asked for a valid payment method so for now it's a little bugged. Hopefully it can be fixed ASAP.

The 360 games are still much better. Thief on X1 was good last month.

Remember though its only 4 free games on Xbox One though. 360 users only get two still.

Yeah, some of the Xbox One games have been of...variable quality. Zheroes is utterly dire for example.

Looking forward to trying Styx and Hand Of Fate however.

I never finished Wolf Among US on the 360 so I'm looking forward to that. I've got Sunset Overdrive already and I got the One version of Saints Row. Looking forward to have a chance to play Dead Space.

Dead space is a trilogy. Naturally I've only played it on PC but got the lot in a humble bundle some time ago. Decent playthrough if you get into it. Online coop campaign the second game too. I've considered rebuying a console for UFC and fight night as well as Forza but it seems Microsoft are making a big push into Xbox Live PC. Not sure how well it's going to go after a disagreement with Epic games over the already dire freemium Forza pc installment. A lot of us would happily just pay the 40 quid for a full game.

As for Saints Row, I just hate it with a passion. My reasoning is justified though. Saints Row 1 was easily one of the best GTA clones I've played with a pretty good story to back it up as well as some great online mode ideas with built in clan capability. They then removed this from the second and just went away with the fairies from there. So personal opinion. Great memories way back though with the first Saints Row.

I assume Borderlands was there because it was last month's?
Amazing game, all three of them. So much replay ability and hours of content without the DLC. One of the rare games where I can actually purchase DLC and feel satisfied it wasn't a cash grab like CoD maps. If it wasn't free though, I'd recommend the series to anyone. Great original games.
