Bugger...I need to catch up on the end of series 3 since my Tivo box died and I lost all recordings.

This weeks episode took me by surprise!

I didn't realise it was the mid-season finale.

Well that was rubbish. Can't believe this is still the most watched show in the US, it's nowhere near the same quality it used to be now.

Rubbish!?!? I thought that was one of the best finales the show has had!

I agree this season hasn't been up to the standards of the previous ones, but i loved that episode.

You what, it's the only thing worth watching on tv, especially now that Breaking Bad is over.

Highest rated on cable, not highest rated overall.

Poor old Hershal I was not expecting that. Were do they go to from here.

The Govenor was a real nutter.

Re: Walking Dead season 4

I love the show but have never read the comics. Just a quick question, if anyone knows the answer.

Everyone is infected, as far as we know, and turn into a zombie when they die. What is it about a zombie bite thats deadly? Surely the zombie bite carries the exact same infection?

Maybe it's already been explained in the show, and I've missed it, however it's puzzled me for sometime.

It's a good question, that I don't believe has been fully explained, but I haven't watched all the webisodes.

I think there may be two things at play. 2 virus's. 1 no. airborne one that has infected everybody and causes you to reanimate.

And another that only triggers after you die, that causes death if passed on by a bite.

Or you could just not worry about it, and remind yourself that it's just a good a bit of telly.

Russ 13-12-2013 20:40

Re: Walking Dead season 4

My take on it is not the bite itself but because they bite so deeply in to someone that it's usually a fatal injury.

Re: Walking Dead season 4

Would someone die from a bite to the leg like Hershal got? I dunno what the answer is also

Good point. I'm a massive zombie movie fan so Walking Dead is right up my street.

I've also wondered how long a zombie epidemic would last. There must be a point when the walkers simply rot away to just bones.

jobbie8 13-12-2013 22:14

Love the Walking Dead. I did wonder who kept the lawns mowed, a couple of eps ago, when Carol left, not over grown at all.
The only thing that bugs me is that everyone is infected already.
Oh and the Hyundai i35 is almost always clean. Lol

Had it not been treated yes he'd have turned as the injury was a bad one.

Must admit it kind of bugs me too. I'm hoping a full explanation is forthcoming soon. My major bugbear with most zombie flicks is the lack of a proper explanation as to how the outbreak happened and a proper resolved ending. Whilst 28 Days Later wasn't a zombie flick, I thought it did a good job covering both.

Re: Walking Dead season 4

Anyone else unimpressed with hope the 2nd half is focussing on mini groups? OK it's different but I feel like they've watered things down. When it's a big group there's more scope for drama, new angles etc OK there's always someone in each episode who does something stupid ("I know, let's go in to this previous unexplored room with no weapons and a big cheesy grin on my face, what's the worst that could happen?") but these smaller groups feel pretty restricted in terms of plot.

DocDutch 04-03-2014 09:43

Re: Walking Dead season 4

last nights episode was a bit boring but the 1 before was pretty good I thought. it is building up to all of the groups finding each other again probably in the next 2 I would think

Yeah, that was quite a shocking ep!

Powerful scene between Tyrese and Carol too at the end.

Yes. But what what happened with girls, made me decide not to watch rest.

Re: Walking Dead season 4

Got to agree that last nights Walking Dead was very uncomfortable viewing. I'm not convinced they had to go so dark with the episode. It's got me a little concerned about the direction they are heading in. What next? Hershels daughter Emily, who was last seen being whisked away in a car, getting raped by a gang of thugs? Pretty extreme I know however the show crossed a line last night, now anything is possible.

Re: Walking Dead season 4

I thought it was an excellent episode with a long overdue "holy ****" moment. Uncomfortable yes but just what I felt this season needed.

Her name is Beth. The actress is Emily.

I thought it was excellent and scarily thought provoking. If you were with someone with obvious serious and dangerous mental health issues who would prolly kill you given half a chance what would you do?

Abandon them and hope they don't follow you? Learn to never sleep again or turn your back? Or take the drastic option?

Read the comics, they're much darker than the series although it is a pretty dark show, actually don't read them, I haven't watch it since the end of series two as I made that mistake

Agreed, we're talking about the end of the world and dead rising and eating the living.

There is no line to cross.

This is it. For the first time in a long time we had something reminding us that the world they live in is entirely different to ours. As disturbing as that incident was, TWD had kept us in a comfort zone for too long. It was almost a return to the initial 'shocker' value of season 1.

If our society had gone to pieces like theirs then all rules about common decency and normality would go flying out of the window - and last week's episode reflected that.

Although in true TWD tradition it should follow that the remaining episodes won't be as powerful...

Pierre 25-03-2014 12:58

Re: Walking Dead season 4

Will be interesting to see how it ends next week.

The interweb are talking about Cannibals.

Russ 25-03-2014 13:19

Re: Walking Dead season 4

Good call. There was certainly *something* uneasy about that ending.

That was my first thought. From other forums, it seems to be a very common theory...

Biggest let down of the series

Russ 31-03-2014 13:20

Re: Walking Dead season 4

Worst episode ever. The flashbacks were a waste of time and added nothing to the story. As for that ending......awful. I'll watch the next season as I like the show, not because of how this one concluded.

Kabaal 31-03-2014 14:30

Re: Walking Dead season 4

The whole second half of this season felt like a dragged out season finale that did nothing more than set up the next season. If it had been 10 episodes long instead of 16 and last nights was still the last episode i probably wouldn't have minded so much but what we ended up with seemed like filler.

Pierre 02-04-2014 10:35

Re: Walking Dead season 4

It was't as bad as expected, I think the flashbacks served to remind just how dark Rick has become since those more calmer moments.

Yep, terminus are definitely cannibals.

Will be interesting to see how they get out if this one.

It would seem that Carol and Tyreese are not there yet, so I would assume that they will be pivotal in the escape.

But they look heavily outnumbered, so it looks like if they escape they'll be on the run from " hunters" ;)
