BT Sport on Virgin is crazy good value

To get BT Sport on "other providers" you pay a £15 activation fee then £12 for the 3 channels, then £3 for HD, and you only get it on one box even if you have multiroom.

I now have it, at no extra charge, on all my Virginmedia TV boxes, in HD without any activation fee. Virginmedia need to shout this louder than they currently are.

An those saying if they paid £200 million over the 3 years that it was too much, You're wrong! The effectively get 3 years of Premier league football for £200million,

Sky just paid £2.2 billion, and BT £700 million, Virginmedia DONE GOOD....VERY GOOD. Oh, and UFC people !!!! UFC!!!!!

Its not 'free' though is it ? You have to pay for the most expensive XL package. Not much difference to last year when ESPN had Premiership games. If they hadn't of got BT Sports they'd have to lowered the price or faces loads downgrading.

No offense people but you're going to struggle to find anything negative in this. XL customers getting BT Sport MULTIROOM for no extra charge is quite frankly amazing for a sports fan.

This IS NOT ESPN, Its 2 BRANDNEW Sports channels set up by BT, with a ESPN addon of 1 channel. An it no one said it was FREE, Its at no extra cost.

But XL includes all the none premium channels, HD and now BT Sport...it really is a great value package.

bit of a bold statement there. Care to back that up with facts?

I do watch sports just not on TV much or at all. When I do its usually US sports, mainly baseball.

On the contrary. Who does better - the caveman who goes hunting, or the caveman who watches others hunting?

I find people who comment on others shortcomings generally have some of their own.

Sport in this country is heavily geared towards Football. I hate watching football. A bunch of overpaid prema donnas who cheat both on the field and off.

I played Rugby and did a lot of martial arts when I was young proper full contact. Does the fact I do not watch sports channels still make me a nancy?

I do think BT sports free on VM is a huge flip of the bird to Sky which I find funny though

Not really, IF VM hadnt gained BT for free i certainly wouldnt have downgraded my package and lost sports. ESPN was free and they made that clear. Compared to other providers VM have worked wonders.

Sky were offering a credit to Virgin users who switched and wanted BT Sports and BT were offering it free anyway. I don't think there's many customers who will be paying for their subscription to it. basically it's been one of those times where competition really does provide better value for the customers, whichever their provider.

Sky and BT are also going to be doing well out of their football deals from wholesaling as well as ad revenue, so again, everyone's a winner really.

The Sky deal for Virgin Media customers seemed good until I read the small print to find out it was only for SD and you had to pay extra for HD. Never mind still with Virgin, always have been, always will be.

How is it a good deal when it's a minimum of £12 a month on Sky and £15 on VM? To upgrade to XL costs a lot more than £15.
