EPG incorrect.

To whom do I complain about VM's EPG being borked? At least 4 times this week the programs supposedly being shown weren't being shown despite the EPG saying they were. It's getting to be annoying to find that a program you have set up to record ISN'T the one being televised?

So how do I complain? Which is best? VM forum,Email or CS? Which will give me an answer and actually report the issue back to TPTB or just shove it to the back of the queue.

Didn't BexTech get shot down recently for claiming he had the same issue ?

Wouldn't say shot down, but I passed comment. Still waiting for his list of errors as we (well Mrs G) haven't had any issues. If it transpires that errors are that common I'll gladly apologise for questioning him.

Well I'm on a VHD+ and I'm currently having issues..I'd just like the best way to convey to TPTB that there is an issue to be sorted out.I cannot believe that in this last few days I'm the only person this has affected.:)

Email to tivoguideerrors@virginmedia.co.uk is best (even for non-TiVo errors)

Really? Email is the best way to get a response?

I'll give it a go but past experiences haven't given me any sense that this will work.

Not all email addresses are equal. :)

Please make sure you mention this is on V+.

Don't expect a response. Do expect your issue to be resolved. I've used this and it works.

Am I the only one who presumed that BexTech was female?!

Even the TV listing websites eg Radio Times, can sometimes get it wrong. If TV companies themselves don't tell people about a change in programming, how can the broadcasters or listings websites do anything?

There have been a couple of recent events where there were changes in programming for later that same day. Not only did the V+ EPG update to reflect the changes, planned recordings were moved to the new time and correctly recorded. It looks like VM can cope with changes if they are informed about them. A possible snag is that a change may result in a clash with other planned recordings and not get recorded for that reason.

This is often true of Eurosport and it is on other platforms than VM....

I don't think it was for that reason. More that he claimed Tivo is always faulty, is crap and is hated by most of it's users. Then when asked to provide evidence of those assertions, told people to find it themselves.

Correct, i even said that if the info is pointed out to me i would ensure it was passed on to those who need it and can take notice of it.

Well that was true about one of the instances this week. The Big Easy was not in the Radio Times or the EPG and yet it was on the online version of Radio Times as being aired at 12am Thursday/Friday.Indeed it would appear there is a film being aired everyday at that time on BBC1 but the EPG and RT hardcopy say that it is BBC news being aired until 6am.
As for another instance it was Universal that proclaimed that one show was being aired but in the event it was an entirely different show and yet the EPG and the Radio times said differently and I ended up recording the wrong programme which is annoying if you are watching a series.Indeed the next day it was back to the scheduled show.

The other instances are ones that my oh was getting particularly peeved by and he hasn't informed me what they were..I think it was sports related.

Yeah, I've been having EPG issues recently, set Tivo to record programmes only for the EPG to have listed them wrong and when we play them back find they are completely different programmes.

Didn't say it was hated by most users, said out of my friends and family they didn't like it.

Also noticed loads of people complaining about the Tivo on VMs Twitter Feed and Facebook Pages.

I suppose it is a bit awkward to go to the sites and go through some of the other non relevant posts but they are there, quite a few, many having the same issues. Some TBH are non-issues and just down to customers not knowing how to use the box.

Some people having to have their boxes replaced several times.

I don't mind my Tivo, just want it to be more responsive.

On Satellite and Freeview the broadcasters can send EPG updates out 'on-the-fly' can can update last minute changes too, the BBC are excellent for keeping their EPG data up to date.

I don't find out about many the errors til later when I play them back, not really been paying much attention to TV last couple of days. When I'm feeling better and can bother with TV again and I remember I'll start making note and post them up. But get very tired at the moment and not long out of hospital as heart deteriorated a lot more in a short space of time and struggling doing even basic things.

I'm male, name came about from the name of the company we set up, named after my eldest. (Though, wound up now).
