Network down?

It looks like the Network is down over the whole of the UK at present... :(

This might be the same problem that l had yesterday, my mother in law said that she had the problem also last Friday.

Re: Network down?

There seems to be a major fault. Check the service status. I expect that a fair few techy people are tearing their hair out and have a ruined Friday evening (much like their customers)

Yup same here

Re: Network down?

There is a fault disruption.
You might be having trouble with your TiVo functionality with "No Network Availablity" message on Home Screen plus issues when signing into TV Anywhere app on smartphones or iPad
Fault reference: F002416256

The recording is held on your hard drive, but when you press right or OK it attempts to fetch details about the programme from a server. Try highlighting the show in My Shows then pressing the Clear button instead.

Or another way to delete is to play the show to within 5 minutes of the end, press stop, and select the option to delete.

Re: Network down?

Can someone please explain to me IF the network gioes down - doesnt VM have a system that tells them exactly where the fault lies, or is it that an engineer goes to certains parts of the country and finds the fault there.

To me it doesn't make sense that such a vast company as VM, and they cannot solve the problem.

When l had our problem the other day, we were told it was a national fault, but was down to streaming to us. that caused the problem.

You do realise Virginmedia actually get their channels via satellite feeds? They then pipe them to you via cable?

I do I was just trying to say how fragile technology can be, TiVo issues, not related feed satellite feed gone off air supplied to Boxnation and my Barclays app not allowing to use some of it's functions! Nothing related just no tech is 100% infallible that's all;)

To be honest, I never use the catch up services or Spotify on the TiVo.

If needed I would just use the range of apps on my Samsung Smart TV as they tend to work better anyway.

at least this time it still downloaded the guide data. the network errors when it first launched that went off for weeks on end wouldn't even do that.

Tell your family to stop buying cheap TV's then, or invest in suround sound or a sound bar. My 2012 LG has much worse sound than the 2011 Samsung we have in our kitchen.
