12 Months half price, £75 off bill, Free installation

Wow.......

Virginmedia have a staggering offer for just one week, any of the collections half price for 12 months, free install, £75 bill credit. Now that's an offer, One can only assume 1st quarter churn and new customers additions must be quite bad.

But either way if you're not with Virginmedia already fill ya boots CLICK ME

Go for the ViP collection 100mb broadband, sky movies/sports HD, 2 boxes 1 of which is tivo and the top call package. £65ish all in for 12 months....BARGAIN When ya consider 100mb is £35 a month on its own.

It's great deal!

Virtually the same deal I'm on just now with SKY. It's something all non-Virgin customers out of contract should consider.

I'm on a 50% off deal with sky aswell but because my phoneline is included in e deal I pay a out £4 less than he virgin deal but in my opinion get quite a lot more.

extra channels that's all that there with holding

Re: 12 Months half price, £75 off bill, Free installation

Truely unlimited broadband, when will virgin stop with holding access to its cable network? An sky don't withhold access. That's like saying Ferrari withhold access to its engines from ford.

There is no reason Ferrari should sell its engines to ford and no reason Sky should sell its channels to virginmedia. But if you read through the results of the enquiry into wether Sky were playing fair or not it found Sky had offered ALL channels to Virginmedia but virginmedia had walked away from discussions in the hope of intervention from offcom.

Virginmedia were clearly told to STOP COMPLAINING AND START COMPETEING.

No as there isn't a nationally advertised campaign offering 50% off for 12 months from sky. As the uk's number 1 pay TV PROVIDER and the uk's number TWO phone and broadband provider they're doing ok.

The funny thing is the exact opposite was being said when I posted on here that I was joining SKY from Virgin on a 50% off deal for 12 months :D

I think it's great for the consumer. Who wouldn't want half price TV, broadband and telephone for 12 months?

We know SKY can afford to offer half price for a year and now Virgin are doing it. This just shows how much we're being ripped off by if the 2 biggest pay TV providers in the UK.

How over priced are SKY and Virgin then? OFCOM should be looking into this.

Rumour is their struggling for new custom, hence 15 quid awsome foursome, half price hd, free movies fir a month, free broadband also giving all employees 2 frends free for a year.

That's what's driving vm to come up with offers.

Results should be interesting for both of them

Re: 12 Months half price, £75 off bill, Free installation

The Sky Atlantic/Ferrari analogy is a bit ridiculous. It's a Daewoo at best with some Ferrari parts shoved in it to make it appealing. And the Ferrari bits it does have, it had no involvement in designing or manufacturing with.

I'm always getting offers from Sky for 50% off every month, with 3 coming in the post just last month. There's also all the mention of people on several forums getting this offer all year round. VM offer the same sort of deal for only 1 week and they're the one who's struggling to add new customers?

All that aside, it's a smashing offer and I might just upgrade to VIP as it kind of works out to be the same sort of price I'm currently paying.

A few months ago when I left Virgin to join SKY on 50% off friends and family Virgin did try to talk me into staying but couldn't match the offer from SKY. At the time I suggested if Virgin did match the offer I would have stayed however I felt SKY wanted me more as their customer with their great offer.

If I was in the same position now and called Virgin, and proved I was off to SKY on a friends and family deal, I wonder if retentions would offer me their new one week only 50% of deal to stay?

I think there's going to be loads more offers between now and after April.
people have no money to spend on Virgin and Sky anymore.

so as well as people leaving, reducing their services in high numbers. there will be an awful lot of offers to get people to spend money with them.

Sky and Virgin are actually a luxury to many. and Sky and Virgin know that.
the luxury game was going quite well for quite some time. with this and that being improved and bettered in the competition between the two to get the paying customers who wanted it.

then. BOOM.... Dave and reality sort of kicked in. bills have to be paid. people have to eat and keep warm. and they need to pay the council and bedroom tax. and their money has been reduced anyway. so the luxury game is slowly coming to an end.

now they need to either raise their prices to make up the losses. or reduce their prices by way of offers and incentives galore.

more to follow. watch in awe :)

You'll be able to go into Halfords soon and they'll throw in a bike if you buy a socket set.

In the small print it says new customers only but what about those who only have broadband (like me) and decided to upgrade to TV and phone are they classed as new customers?

Bogof 20-03-2013 15:06

Re: 12 Months half price, £75 off bill, Free installation

Well Ive taken the premiere collection, all in £38 for a Tivo, a VHD, 60Mb BB and phoneline plus £75 bill credit, so £75 divided over 12 months is £6.25 a month. So £32 a month effectively for 12 months. Plus I'm canceling ESPN from Sky as its included in the pack saving another £10.

So m monthly Pay tv and broadband out goings will increase by £22 but I get Tivo, VHD, 60Mb BB, and second phone line lol. Mental. Ohh and free installation.

Total paid out a month, £72, total services, Sky broadband, skyworldHD,Sky phoneline, Virginmedia 60Mb, Virginmedia TiVo, Virginmedia VHD, Virginmedia phoneline with ESPN lol. Absolutely crazy....

Re: 12 Months half price, £75 off bill, Free installation

I can't see this offer being beaten for a long time, I mean the HD pack is £10 on sky, 2 Tv boxes a TiVo and VHD, so one would have a £10.25 charge with sky, 60mb bb is comparable to Sky fibre pro which is £20 on sky, an a phoneline so that's £14 on sky an the tv pack is £25 on sky so on normal rates that's around £80. Add in ESPN although no one knows its future would be £92.

I'm getting it all plus ESPN for £38 even if the service is a bit iffy it's worth it, not to mention 2 separate landline numbers an 2 separate broadband lines.

I got one through the post from Sky today for the first time in ages - half price for 6 months (Entertainment extra pack and HD only). I totted it all up and on full price after the 6 months Sky worked out about £17 a month more and I'm on the VIP pack.

The Sky booklet was quite glossy but after thumbing through it, I realised I wasn't missing anything they were promoting as not being on Virgin. Each to their own though as I am sure that to others, it would be worth it.

Re: 12 Months half price, £75 off bill, Free installation

I've got the XL tv pack with VM can't say I watch the 300+ channels or whatever it amounts to.

Some I just fly past but I need to get the XL pack for some of the stuff VM don't inc on the M package. so for me I just float around the same 20 channels or so the rest go to waste as I might only ever flick them on once in a while...so while people brag about sky it means nothing to me because again I would simply be watching the same channels they have to offer that VM do.

I Much prefer VM BB and with news groups going down the pan in the last few months and indexing sites like NZB matrix I don't often go over the cap anyway that VM have in force.

So to me SKY dont offer anything better than what I have now I did look and found that getting the same package I have now on SKY is more or less the same only I get less BB speed for it.

Yes but its not nationally advertised and you have to be referred via a code, this is different from Virginmedia. This is open to everyone and nationally advertised. Although it is only open for 1 week.

Just tried ringing up retention's, {shut till monday} see if they will put me on this deal {out of contract} don't think i am actually getting ANY discounts, was already thinking about cancelling the tv and phone line, for what we actually watch, plus we all use mobiles so the phone line is pointless we could manage with just the BB to be honest.
