Channel 4 documentary claims religious leaders have been protecting child abusers

Dispatches found 19 cases where crimes were not reported as the Orthodox Jewish community prefers to deal with it internally

I saw this program and was quite disturbed.

Whats everyones thoughts?

Not really surprised ,religion in general has a bad rep for dealing with pedophilia in it's ranks

I may be wrong but i seem to think some religions have a bigger problem than others as well.

I would suggest the more influential the religion the bigger the problem

I don't think there is any doubt as to the Catholic churches massive problems with child abuse ,they are one of the most(if not the most) influential churches around .I think their potential has been fully realised

I'm not downplaying the Catholic church's history of such matters but as we're seeing with the whole Jimmy Saville thing, how much of this sort of thing has also been 'well-hidden in plain view' in other areas of society?

Interesting choice of words... :spin:

Thing is though, whether it's Saville, the RC church or the local scoutmaster they all seem to operate under a veil of trust and unspoken protection. Not good as especially with Saville can there really be any section of society you could truly say you trust? These urges transcend vocation, title etc.

Yes, apparently they did an in-depth study of common sense and found that some people within the EU had a lot more than others so in an effort to 'harmonise' things they decided everyone having none was a better idea. :D

Well it never going to stop, the government system is filled with it all to rafters, all your going to see is the weak & exposed ones being hung out dry then the rest will carry on as normal. But what does one class abuse these days, of the media openly outing sexual references to the young of today plus the bad parenting to go along with it - then the brained washed media folk + public wonder how did it all happen.... anybody wonders how we all got in the state in the first place?

It about power, the state what not or taking over... what once was taken as normal no harm done is now a abusive offence..... kids will be kids adult will be adults, where that meets is just a pure gamble not a risk.

Back in my day growing up nudity with the youth & adults was ok even to a point where older teens going out with adult was ok, as long the parent knew the mid set of a the older person hell even, I knew a girl early teens was going out with a much older later teen, doing everything that normal couples do. You ask did anybody kick a fuss about it .. no as it was seen it wasn't there place + they wanted to be together; still together after 4 years he was in his early 20's her mid/late teens... oh this happens everywhere around the world so no shock but the system taking control over something natural human behaver.

I'm against rape full stop but a consenting youth (yes by law they can't) but it happens, I was one to with my first girlfriend, an older girl.. did I cry out rape? No but look at it first & only time I'd be at the certain point in life, then moving onwards to end on a good note I was with her for 2 years no counting the odd times after we finished but still ended up together in the same bed.
Many of the case of rape come from youths doing sexual things with another then getting caught but from saying " I wanted it to happen" they cry out "rape" for to protect themselves from the good hiding there going get from their parents even falling pregnant after long time having sex..either way it too over thought about with whole "youth & adult sexual relationship idea"

We haven't move on the from the 1900's but the government state & brain washed idiots would like you to think that is the case but no we are going backwards than forwards. I say lets what happens happen & be done with it. That goes for all other cases where the state likes pulling families apart from false links to this so called false "abuse".

You got a view point ...?

Peace out
