Froch is close to signing a deal to fight Mikkel Kessler again.

Potential to be a good bout but I'm not a huge fan of Froch, simply back him because he's one of ours. His style isn't the best and some may argue it get's the job done but Andre Ward showed just how average Froch is. Ward is something else but Froch made no attempt to change it up and accepted a 12 round spanking.

Knocking out Bute is no shock either, Froch as the underdog against a world champion with no reputable opponents to his name? Easy money at the bookies for some.

Not impressed with Shane Mosley coming out of retirement to face Paulie Malignaggi. I wonder if the winner of Khan Vs. Senchenko, if it happens, faces the winner of Malignaggi and Mosley?

Khan could beat either having already outclassed and stopped Paulie, I'm not excited by the prospect of it or Khan vs Senchenko. The fight's are too easy for Khan and they would do little to test him, I don't doubt Virgil's training and ability to make Khan stick to a gameplan but he really needs to be looking at Peterson and Garcia to be getting people behind him again.

I want to see Garcia exposed for being the very bland fighter he is, a guy that closes his eyes and throws a counter punch and gets incredibly lucky! Khan under Virgil is going to make this lad look like an Amateur, not that he already didn't in the first few rounds of the first fight.

Carl Froch and Mikkel Kessler labelled themselves as gladiators yesterday as they launched the second of what could be a trilogy of fights.

The super-middleweight duo were at London's O2 Arena to promote the 25 May meeting between them which will serve as a rematch to their bloody tear up in Denmark three years ago.

Froch was beaten on that night, with his nose broken and his unbeaten record whipped away from him in a bout that is still referred to owing to its brutality.

Both men have won and lost world titles since and will put the belts they currently have, the IBF (Froch) and WBA (Kessler) on the line in front of 17,000 fight fans who snapped up every available ticket within two hours of them going on sale yesterday.

Mayweather vs Alexander.. brilliant.

Really low key fight for Mayweather, tad disappointing if this is true.
I hate the fact they are keeping Mayweather away from Bradley, I believe it's figured out now anyway, Mayweather has a couple of more fights in him at best and is by far the biggest draw in boxing. Timothy Bradley is also undefeated and having Mayweather crush that would ruin the potential cash machine Bradley is set to become. The worst part of all this... Bradley is nothing special, he won a blatant fixed decision against a hall of famer in Pacman, by blatant I mean it wasn't even reasonably close to swing it.

I'd back Kell Brook to beat Alexander so I don't see what Mayweather would see in this fight. As for Bradley, Ruslan Provodnikov is in line for him, as you can guess a complete nobody from Russia who's been knocking out bums for a while. Boxing eh.

Floyd Mayweather will fight Robert Guerrero in Las Vegas on May 4, it has been confirmed.

The clash between the WBC welterweight champion and their 'interim' belt holder has been mooted since the start of the year.

Mayweather's tweet earlier this month that Devon Alexander was the front-runner for the 'Cinco de Mayweather' date proved to be a red-herring with the IBF belt holder still on course to take on Kell Brook.

The fight will take place on CBS and Showtime PPV, something of a surprise after HBO had televised the majority of his fights. The new deal is for up to six fights over 30 months.

Tim Bradley fought at the weekend and took it by the skin of his teeth, He showed massive cockyness similar to that of Amir Khan and quickly found himself being battered by a Russian. Bradley is overrated beyond belief and the amount of fighters he's ducked is hilarious but he got his on Saturday despite winning. Questions will be raised now about how Bradley was rocked multiple times throughout different rounds but survived a one sided fight with the Pacman.

Simple Answer: Mayweather will be off soon, retirement looms for a boxing legend and the licence to print money goes with him, unless they mold Bradley into another Mayweather. Bradley is undefeated and got a terrible decision against a legend in what's quickly looking to be a complete fix. They cannot turn this guy into anything. If boxers come at Bradley like Ruslan did then Bradley's gonna be dropped, Ruslan barely caught him half the time either so a match with Garcia landing one lucky shot would see Bradley on his back.

Thursday looks interesting.

BOXING
Former world heavyweight and cruiserweight champion David 'The Hayemaker' Haye will officially announce his highly-anticipated return to the ring at a press conference this Thursday in London.

The division just got interesting again, there were already rumours Haye would go knocking people out until he was the mandatory challenger for a title in an attempt to force either Klitschko into a fight with him.

Or could this be another run at Cruiser? god help anyone in that division if it is.

Re: Boxing 2013

So then things are starting to get close.

Amir Khan
Floyd Mayweather
David Haye.

Amir Khan vs Julio Díaz is the 27th of this month.

1st look at it, simple for Khan all the way. Diaz is veteran but is not a top level fighter, he's knocked out bums but again that's nothing to worry about. Khan needs to get into the habit of sticking to the gameplan and let Diaz bury himself, the same thing he did with Molina. Khan needs this practice and when he learns to execute a gameplan fully for an entire 12 rounds then he'll be ready to take out Garcia/Bradley or anyone else in front of him. Khan isn't weak he's just stupid and cocky. Garcia fluked it and I truly believe that regardless of what anyone says, Garcia was being absolutely dismantled until Khan's cockyness kicked in.

Mayweather vs Robert Guerrero is the 4th May

I think it'll be an easy fight for Mayweather and will do nothing more to solidify his status as one of if not the best of this generation.

David Haye vs ???

Unknown opponent yet but I doubt it will be a Klitschko otherwise it would have leaked already. Regardless of opponent it's likely Haye will floor him inside 6. I'm confident Haye could drop either Klitschko too but it's getting to them. Can't knock em out if you fail to land for an entire fight and just get jabbed out. Haye will be pushing to make himself the mandatory challenger for either brother but like I've said, if Haye doesn't get in the ring at least twice this year then I feel Vitali will be out of the question and retire.

Re: Boxing 2013

Oh dear. This fight, and the previous fight, were supposed to be easy learning fights for Khan to adapt to his new fighting style and to help re-build confidence. Being on the canvas and being rocked about 3 or 4 more times doesn't help. At times it looked like he was holding on for dear life. Very close decision for Khan in the end. Whilst Khan is great to watch, this should have been an easy nights work. Forget all the spin on Boxnation, Khan needs to have a long hard look at himself. I can't see him returning to elite level however he can't keep on fighting guys like Molina and Diaz forever. I just don't know where he goes.

Boxrec have Brandon Rios, Mike Alvarado and Lucas Matthysse ranked directly above Khan at light welterweight. I think all 3 stop him, or hurt him badly. There is no point moving up to welterweight either. I can't see him handling the likes of Mayweather, Marquez, Bradley, Guerrero, Pacman, Alexander or Provodnikov.

Khan Vs. Brook?

Re: Boxing 2013

Garcia and Bradley's days are numbered

Bradley fight's Marquez next, Bradley is similar to Khan, very quick hands but can't take a punch for crap, he was wobbled so many times in his last fight and was down eventually but nicked it on points. If Marquez catches him I feel he won't get as lucky but I also feel if Marquez doesn't drop him then Bradley will win on points regardless of any knockdowns or dominance by Marquez.

Garcia is iffy for me, no idea what's gonna happen to him when he comes up against someone with speed and can take a punch.. basically a repeat of the Khan fight but his counter left not counting for anything.

Re: Boxing 2013

Mayweather masterclass 44-0

Alvarez, Khan, Bradley?

Whilst Khan and Bradley seem to fall over in the ring at the slightest breeze I think it would make for a hell of a fight. Mayweather's defence against the speed of either of these two. Khan would probably be the fastest Mayweather's been put against so it would be an interesting fight.

I couldn't see anyone scoring a knockout or TKO to be fair so it'd be a points decision for either.

Bradley is quickly joining the 'No Chin' ranks too, he was really exposed last time out and whomever he faces next won't be waiting around to try blast it off.

Indeed, Fury likes having the attention he's getting despite the majority being negative, He wont go in the ring with anyone he's not expected to beat. He talks about World Title fights but this lad won't get in the ring with a Klitschko and he sure as hell won't get in the ring with Haye. I could be wrong but I've said earlier Fury would be mad to even think about this fight. I think Fury is selling a fight that isn't even happening. It's criminal at this stage. Kudos if it does happen but Fury is effectively a free ticket to a Klitschko for Haye. To even it up they should let price in the ring to help Fury. 2 chins one hayemaker. Fury's logic is scary, he's basing himself being ready based on being put down by Cunningham and then knocking him out.. the fact someone like Cunningham alone put him down should be logic enough to stay away from the hardest hitter in the division. Fury won't catch Haye clean and If Haye went for a power punch right off the bell I'd call it as quick as 20 seconds into round 1

Excited in a way but at the same time we're likely going to be witnessing the end of British HW boxing for a while. Haye will kill off Fury. Price is just as crap and buried. Haye will take a pop and Klitschko and then he'll be off too.

Chisora has a better chin and is more exciting than Fury at times. Infact people claim Chisora has one of the best chins in the business.. so watch that fight Fury and watch how Haye obliterated it in 5 rounds.

Price, Fury, Harrison, Hatton etc. Hatton is controversial indeed and I was a fan but I have to look back and recognise he strolled to a world title and got destroyed by anyone on the same or better level than him. Khan would destroy him and probably could have before he became a world champ.

I feel like Joe Calzaghe is the most recent world champion worthy of his rep.

Indeed Calzaghe never avoided anybody nor did he just do it for another easy payday.

l am talking about certain boxers who's talents are over-rated who then come crashing down to earth when suddenly its realised that they are not as good as some people have made out.

Froch needs to be wary of this guy, produced by Adam Booth and quickly developing into a heavy hitter, already looks like a knockout artist. If Froch fails to respect this he'll sharp find out why he should have.

Not sure about that tbh. He could certainly have fought the likes of Hopkins and Jones earlier on in his career but didn't. How much of that was down to his management and/or theirs is hard to say but I think the truth is all sides benefitted by being able to retain their status and protect their earning power. The truth is there are too many governing bodies, too many 'champions' and too many hangers-on all with their vested interests to protect for as long as possible.

I thought after Pacman vs Bradley we might have seen the last of the dodgy judges but one scored that fight as a draw...seriously strip these guys of any licences they may have and have them arrested for fixing.

4 more wins and Mayweather can count himself part of the invincibles

i really wanted to see a battle :( Wheres Manny Pacquiao?

The Garcia fight was dirty, way too many low blows in that one.

Pacman has nothing left in him.

A lot of people are also questioning his decline coming right after the Mayweather talks led onto random drug testing.

Re: Boxing 2013

Neh, no point. Another Ward vs Froch essentially. I like Froch but he's not brilliant, he's sloppy but his heart's in the right place and he gives it his all. Andre Ward is on another planet to him and Ward will dominate the division for years to come.

As for the drug testing, Usually in fights the dates for the drug tests are pre-determined in the contract.

Random drug testing would allow them to turn up unscheduled and take blood. Manny refused to this deal multiple times. There's always been a suspicion about Manny and possible cheating and drugs to be fair. Likely nothing but could be everything at the same time. It's all pointless anyway, as much as I praise the Pacman fans out there, they're way out of their depth with Floyd even with Manny in his prime. Mayweather is truly a boxing genius and is right on par with Ali. He's arrogant but that's to sell fights. He has massive respect for his opponents and is usually a gentleman after the fight and he's already booked his ticket to being one of the greatest ever.

Heh, I wish. Did you see the 114-114 card last night? Clearly something is up there and they'll not bother to look into it. Pacman was robbed by some horrid judging in the Bradley match too. Dodgy judges, weighted gloves, 'Bum fighting' and PED's are still rife in Boxing.

Infact, it was the same woman who scored Pacmans loss to Bradley.
