VM have work to do to be top

The original Ofcom findings: http://media.ofcom.org.uk/2012/12/04...ls-revealed-2/

These would suggest that satisfaction levels amongst VM's TV, Broadband and phone providers are around average, but they do have a problem with a higher than average proportion of dissatisfied customers.

No surprise that customers are more satisfied with Sky than VM along with being more dissatisfied with VM in all areas.

VM got beat to being worst in all areas by a little 1% lol.

I wonder what the results would be now as yet more price increases are announced?

Don't think my BT prices have gone up once, ever, but then again I'm on a prepaid deal

15.1% increase on VM this year - a retention deal that sees my bill go UP (that was from outbound Retention too!)

Off to Sky I've gone for TV, gets installed Tuesday - Ironically I am probably going to keep VM TV, but only because the bundles cheap and I already have a 1tb TiVO - internet and phone can't be beat - if VM keeps this up they are going to end up having to target the low revenue, low need customers and just hope they get the volume - thy have no interest right now in retaining high ARPU accounts.

The prices go up is the point, as to how many times...all companies do it

Of course they want to keep customers

Yeah all companies do increase their prices but the difference is those other companies would not end up as the worst provider in regards to customer dissatisfaction if the price increase affected their results. Unlike VM...

Well never always going to be number one, but since VM are having there best results at the moment your opinion seems slightly..wrong

VM are having their best results? Did you look at the numbers on the various charts? They are 1% away from being the worst performers according to those statistics. Those numbers came from Ofcom so are not my opinion.

I'll have some of what you have been smoking please!

Of course they want to keep customers

Comparing last year with this, they aren't doing a good job of showing it.

The problem virgin has is that its cost per product is pretty much the same, e.g. the 50mb and the 100mb, broadband, if the customer already has sufficient equipment cost virgin very little, if anything to provide, the problem is they fix the costs and sell goodwill as an alternative.

It simply doesn't work - retentions tried to get me to take a lower quality service for a 50p a month saving.

Instead they lost me as a customer completely.

Love your 'interpretation'...

Broadband choice thought differently

The numbers suggest that customer service levels do not vary much between any of the five major providers
Ofcom

Overall satisfaction with customer service by fixed broadband provider
............Satisfaction.....Neutral.....Dissatisf action
Sky............63%...........25%........12%
BT..........,,,,63%........,,,20%....,,,,17%
Virgin Media.61%......,,,,20%.....,,,19%
TalkTalk......60%......,,,,,24%..,,,,,,15%
Orange.....,,,59%..,,,,,,,,22%..,,,,,,20%
Average.......62%%.....,.22%...,,,,,17%

According to those Ofcom figures, VM are 2% away from being worst and best...:D

Your 1% comes from fixed line, not broadband...

Those figures you quoted above show Sky and BT are joint 1st for Broadband customer service. It also shows that Orange is the worst for customer dissatisfaction with 20%. VM is 1% behind orange with 19%. So my previous post was accurate :)

No need to make it worse by pointing out that Sky only had 12% dissatisfaction compared to VM's 19% and Oranges 20%, that would have just shown how bad the difference was :P

Ofcom have always favoured Virgin media with its statements which has annoyed me for years. The stats are fact but they always word the conclusions to avoid saying negative things about VM while mentioning any positive, no matter how small. Always wondered why that was.

Thank you for moving the goalposts....

The phrase "Ofcom have always favoured Virgin media" says so much about your viewpoint.

Re: VM have work to do to be top

why would Ofcom want to destroy VM, a company thats got huge assets. Ofcom would rather work with VM. Like with any other company.

Thought I was clarifying the 1% applied to the broadband stats you posted too. I understand what you are saying, just wanted to show what I said wasn't actually wrong :)

What does that statement say about my viewpoint? I got the impression that Ofcom and VM were buddies due to some decisions and publications I saw years ago. Everything I have seen since has strengthened that opinion for me. I had no VM issues or bugbears at the time I first thought this.

Like telling them that Sky do not have a monopoly with films?
