only got one download channel
 

Been having problems with SH again, bloody thing has reset twice today.

phoned 150 and they did some mucking around etc. I notice that my traffic light, which is normally blue is now in fact green.

After they did the rejigging with my SH I was told to switch off my computer and SH for 10 minutes then switch it back on and everything will be back to normal.

Now my speed has dropped from 100meg upgrade back to my normal 50meg.

Have you got the R36 firmware ?

If you post your connection stats some knowledgable folks on here will be able to help.

If you use modem mode go to 192.168.100.1

If you don't use modem mode go to 192.168.0.1

No need to 'log in'

Top right hand corner, router status, click on it and post the stats from the downstream section, upstream section and operation configuration section.

Are the problems with 'speed' or just the fact the hub is resetting ?

Your provisioned for 100mb have you been downloading alot, you may have hit STM (or whatever their traffic management is called nowadays)

Unsure as to why you would only have one channel sorry.

You only have one downstream channel locked so you will not get 100Mb ( you share the channel with a lot of other subscribers. I have had this problem in the past and you need to phone VM to sort it out.

Restart the modem/router. If it still only gets one channel you have a network fault.

If you still only have only one d/s channel locked then there's an issue regardless of speedtest results

No guarantee the two are mutually exlusive, probably a local network issue that has resolved itself or been fixed.

Ultimately you appear to be back to normal which is good.

I would suggest that the only people who can resolve the issue is VM, therefore I would suggest you give them a call. General advice seems to be to ring as soon after 8am to get UK support.

Mate I phoned them three times yesterday to help with this nonsense, the last call seemed to work for about 24 hours then BANG back to the same problem.

Its ridiculous.

I spent nigh near 3 hours on the phone with them yesterday.

check via double speed checker if in your area are going some work
(example your speed is due to may-june)

If is going work now then you may have these problems until they finish (had almost same issues with frequent disconnections)

If not going any work (according to double speed checker) then VM has a fault somewhere or if you have disconnections Only after R36 firmware you need to report at VM forums because i have seen few other complaining about disconnections after the R36 upgrade

As advised call them again ( i know is annoying) because at VM forums you will wait few days for official reply

Then call them again ( i know is boring) & ask them if is fault at VM end or is because the r36 update causing disconnections or ask for a replacement modem

just off the phone there, fella spoke his senior "technician" and they said they are going to send me a new SH.

is this likely to make any difference?

maybe if they decide to send you new one looks like there is not fault at their end (also the double speed at your area is completed) so maybe your current SH is faulty ... let us know when post will arrive
