They have started to show whats coming up in the 1st 2 days starting wed 25th and Thu 26th.

They are on all of then except 562 and 563 that is showing the Torch relay.:)

I cant wait now iam looking forward to it.:cool::cleader::cleader:

Good choice of streams for the opening ceremony.

SD on BBC1 & British Eurosport
HD on BBC1 HD & British Eurosport HD
3D on BBC HD & Eurosport 3D
Olympic stream 1 (HD & SD) with Audio Description.
Olympic stream 2 (HD & SD) with no commentary (that will please Danny Boyle).

I have to say looking ahead through the epg this looks simply amazing-I've always thought the BBC dealt well with several live streams, their Wimbledon coverage on the red button has always been excellent, but 24 linear channels of live sport at once is phenomenal. Looking through the epg I think I'm going to be really spoilt for choice. Sort of makes up for only landing tennis tickets in the ballot.

Fault affecting BBC News 601 now.

Just got off the phone to Virgin, they say i have a noise ratio fault on my Tivo.

Engineer booked for Friday.

I'm using the BBC Sports app on my PS3 and currently have woman's Olympic football South Africa vs Sweden in so called HD and the PQ is awful in comparison to the BBC Olympic 2 HD channel.

I am mate , I was on the ps3 before and thought I'd give it a try. I'd be interested to know what others think of the HD PQ on the BBC sports app because compared to the BBC Olympic HD channels on Sky/Freesat/VM it's dire in my opinion. The BBC need to improve the PQ of the streams in the app , it's a real shame as the app looks and functions excellent otherwise. Have you tried Eurosport HD Dave there PQ is even better.

I have just tried the BBC Olympics app on my android phone Brazil v Cameroon the PQ seems pretty decent on my phone to be fair.:)

Good to see 3D HD there. I have Panasonic Viera 55 inch. The 3D is cinema quality. Looking forward to this.

Will these 24 channels show any re-runs/highlights when there is no live sport, or when there is not 24 channels worth. So far it only seems to be showing live events.

If you press the red button when viewing one of the olympic channels you'll be given the option to view highlights.

The options are already there, but, of course the games aren't in full swing yet.

Are you sure? According to http://faq.external.bbc.co.uk/questi...g/bbc_3D_howto 3D will only be on BBC HD. Which makes sense as 3D and SD don't mix well.

Friday morning here in BraCKNELL NOWT! all sports channels are blank even BBC One HD Good start hope they fix by this evening!

Not gone through them all but the first few of the dedicated channels (550+) on VM are fine here.

Had Virgin engineer out this morning, because of Olympic channel and BBC news breaking up, and he said my signal had dropped he went to the green box in the next road,tweaked the signal power now all working again.

Didn't have chance to report it b4 I had to go out was by sheer chance I looked. Just got in STILL NO OLYMPICS! Tel service line and RG2 and RG12 (me!) said having probs and will be fixed asap. It is very odd that BBC One HD is also out just the one reliable channel I was hoping to watch the opening ceremony.

when i use the red button to watch, everything works fine, but when i exit back to normal TV there is no sound on any channel, the only way to restore it is to reset the box
anyone else had this problem ?

Weird; and no. But then I always access them directly rather than through the red button. (They start at 550 for the HD ones and 575 for SD)

Just noticed that on TIVO when recording on all three tuners the BBC sports app switches to an Internet feed rather than use linear , the Sports app is excellent and easy to navigate just wish the BBC would sort the Internet feed out as its significantly lesser quality than the linear broadcast.

I think it because it's not a dedicated TiVo app, it's the smart tv app shoe horned into TiVo. Might be wrong though.

The app is excellent and functions perfect on TIVO , the Olympics is well covered on it with highlights , news , medal tables and live feeds. The whole look/layout is miles nicer than the traditional red button , I'm sure the BBC will improve the Internet feed.

I'm sure they said recently that, where available, they would be using HD video for the app, but I've yet to see any evidence of that, including during their Wimbledon coverage and Formula One. Whilst on that subject, I was particularly irritated yesterday to find that, despite launching 24 dedicated Olympic HD channels and having numerous streams online and behind the red button, they couldn't find a spare hour on either BBC one HD or the BBC HD channel to show their Grand Prix qualifying highlights. Good job I have a wishlist and not a series link!

That said, I think that after the debacle of the Jubilee the BBC are currently outdoing themselves as far as their Olympic coverage is concerned. 24 HD channels as I said, excellent online coverage, the android/iPhone app is superb and actually I just found myself in the car for the climax of the women's cycling road race and the radio coverage was incredibly good as well - really exciting!

I think they could have considered the fact that they have not just one but two hd channels available on freeview, and the qualifying highlights programme was just 1 hour and 15 minutes long out of the whole day. I reckon the interest in Formula One is greater than men's team archery, as good as it was to see Italy beat first Korea and then the States, the nature of the Hungarian Grand Prix means that a Brit effectively won it on the Saturday and the BBC couldn't find even an hour to show the highlights in hd. They've managed to find it today for what was effectively a procession!

I know the app is excellent I have on my smart TV it's great to see its also running excellent on TiVo.

An yes people smart TV's have the full BBC Sport app as it was designed for smart Tv's I'm not talking about the red button but the full sport app.

According to DigiGuide they didn't show qualifying from Canada back in June either so I'm not sure you can exactly blame the Olympics coverage for that :)

@telly correct, in fact BBC red button on TiVo is essentially just a short cut to the BBC for connected TV app.

Some of my Olympics HD unwatchable with severe pic breakup and poor sound with loud high frequency clicks that hurt ones ears! Anyone else experiencing?

That's likely to be a signal issue that affects only you. You'll need to report it to VM.
