1 Attachment(s)
I have tried some solutions that a Google search offered but none them helped or worked.
Just before I lose it completely and re-install Win7 out of spite, does anyone have any other ideas? :( Thanks. |

Re: Can't remove computer from Homegroup - Getting seriously pi.... annoyed
have you tried uninstalling the nic and reinstalling it it may ask you to join a group just skip it. Often when you do this it creates hidden lans so the original one is lan 1 the new one is lan 2 and therefore tries to create a new group
---------- Post added at 15:39 ---------- Previous post was at 15:37 ---------- make sure you have driver disc or new drivers just in case but it should just find it |

1. Disable and stop the following services: HomeGroup Listener, HomeGroup Provider
2. Go to the following location and rename the file: C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Ro aming\PeerNetworking\idstore.sst" 3. Right click on the file and rename the file to idstore.old 4. Restart pc 5. set HomeGroup Listener, HomeGroup Provider to automatic 6. Restart PC 7. Try to leave homegroup |
Re: Can't remove computer from Homegroup - Getting seriously pi.... annoyed
Done it. Didn't help. Might have another go though; just in case.
That said, I will probably end-up re-installing anyway. If nothing else it will get rid of all the extraneous crap I've installed and forgotten about :D |
Re: Can't remove computer from Homegroup - Getting seriously pi.... annoyed
Remove it from the current workgroup - create a new one with a gash name...and then change it back it you wish.
