Beastie Boy Adam Yauch joins the big party in the sky...

The star was diagnosed with cancer in 2009 but it is not clear whether his death was connected with the illness.

Yauch had surgery and radiation therapy but said last year "reports of my being totally cancer free are exaggerated".

wow, hard to believe that 30 years ago I was into GNR, Bon Jovi et al, getting into thrash, then a school mate lent me PWEI - This is the Day..., and Beastie Boys - Licensed to ill, the rest as they say, is history
