Virgin 'Tickle' assumes wrong speed?
I'm a VIP 50 customer, so my broadband is 50meg (XXL) bundled with the VIP package.
I just received the following email from Virgin, and basically I'm confused - they seem to think I'm on 100 and are supposedly going to upgrade me to 120 and drop my price to the same as 50. But I'm only on 50, so in reality are they going to increase my speed to 100 and leave my bill the same? Quote:

Re: Virgin 'Tickle' assumes wrong speed??
Yes, 50 - 100.

Re: Virgin 'Tickle' assumes wrong speed??
Thanks, either way sounds good to me to be honest though I'm happy where I'm at :)
|
Re: Virgin 'Tickle' assumes wrong speed??
I get the same email although I am only on 20Mb, so what will I expect?

I have also had the same email and i am on 10mb, it reads like they are giving me 120mb and a price reduction

Re: Virgin 'Tickle' assumes wrong speed??
Hmmmm - sounds like someone hit the wrong button!!
|
Re: Virgin 'Tickle' assumes wrong speed??
Yep me too, I've just getting the email and I'm on 50mb. The way I orginally picked it up was I got a tickle to get 100mb and when the speeds double I will get 120mb

Re: Virgin 'Tickle' assumes wrong speed??
You can imagine the poor bloke that loaded the distro emails into the system now, sweating as he realises he's loaded an email to the wrong group.
pmsl. |
Re: Virgin 'Tickle' assumes wrong speed??
Me too only on the 10MB broadband speed so I shall now demand the 120MB as per the e-mail lol

Re: Virgin 'Tickle' assumes wrong speed??

If you can convince Virgin to live upto what is at best a badly worded email, and clearly wrong email, then good for you.
I'm simply pointing people to the correct information. The post I linked to on the VM forums makes it much clearer what people can expect to get from the upgrade. |
Re: Virgin 'Tickle' assumes wrong speed?
:fit: I didn't get this email

Re: Virgin 'Tickle' assumes wrong speed?
If you read "You" are plural then it reads perfectly correctly
Edit: Actually, it doesn't |
Ooooops indeed!!!!!

Hello there, Oops! That last email, 100Mb Broadband Announcement, was sent in error. Please ignore this, and rest assured current Virgin Media Cable Broadband customers will be receiving some good news about their broadband in the next 2 weeks. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. The Virgin Media team What a bunch of plonkers!!! Someone will be getting their P45s!! |

Re: Virgin 'Tickle' assumes wrong speed?
This isn't the first time Virgin have been forced to issue an Apology e-mail I remember they sent the TiVo e-mails out everyone was called Dean and now less than a year on they've gone and done this
|
Re: Virgin 'Tickle' assumes wrong speed?
Aye. Someone needs to go on their mail-merge training again.
|
Re: Virgin 'Tickle' assumes wrong speed??
We received an email yesterday informing us of doubling our speed to 100meg and then we got another email shortly afterwards saying the email was sent in error.
|
Re: Virgin 'Tickle' assumes wrong speed?
I got the sorry email before I got the 100Mb email
|
Re: Virgin 'Tickle' assumes wrong speed?
VM can be really dumb sometimes. A company doing great things that somehow manages over and over again to take the shine off its own achievements by its silly methods of communication and PR.
|
Re: Virgin 'Tickle' assumes wrong speed?
I just got the error email too.
Left hand not knowing what right hand doing at VM? |
Re: Virgin 'Tickle' assumes wrong speed?
We got the sorry email, but didn't get the original.
