How lovely being a delivery driver
www.sky.com I refer to the Fed Ex driver throwing a package over someone gate, and Fex Ex saying that this could be the worst day of his life.
What that guy has done is just the tip of the iceberg for delivery guys, l worked for several companies over the years, and l have seen worse than that. Couriers are self employed, unless you are lucky to work for a company, l worked for some people that no matter how many you had, you could not take them back to the depot. You got paid by the package, if you didn't deliver, you didn't get paid that simple, you got rid of the package and just did what you could to get rid of the item. |

I believe that is the article and video you were trying to link. I can't have any sympathy for the courier. It's pretty obvious from the packaging what is inside the box and that rough treatment was out. Unfortunately the courier industry needs to reform itself. Maybe the prices are too low so that there are unreasonable expectations on staff. But I suspect there will be few of us who regularly use mail order type services who have not experienced problems with failed deliveries. |

Re: How lovely being a delivery driver
I think the best trick is where they say it has been left on the doorstep - and obviously it hasn't.
I think the best one was when we had a card slipped our letterbox to say it had been delivered, we immediately went to the door and saw the courier guy driving down the road. The annoying thing was, the courier said that the driver ' made attempts to deliver' but l had the last laugh when l told him that l did the same sort of job and knew the tricks. |

Re: How lovely being a delivery driver
I have had it from Royal mail where a card was posted through my letterbox saying i was not in, I heard the letter box bang and ran to the door to catch a post man walking down my drive. I asked him for the parcel and he admitted he did not have it and they don't carry them to make more room for mail and to reduce waight. I then had to go to the sorting office to collect it and i made a complaint at the same time but it was never sorted to my satisfaction.
Since that day i have no faith in Royal mail and tend to use any other mail system i can for my deliveries if i have the choice. |
