|
Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
Its there but i cant remember my username and password.
|
Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
Works very well.
Any idea if and when a search option will be added?. |
Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
Its taken me at least half an hour to log in and when i actually do what happens.....my bloody box reboots it self.:mad::mad:
|
Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
I love it,fantastic UI compared to the version on my media player. Just listening to something on my playlist. Well done Virgin Media.
Maybe we should start a 'What I'm Listening To On Spotify On My Tivo' thread. LOL |
Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
Working well here, looks nice. Only problems from my point of view are no artwork for my existing playlist tracks and, more importantly, no shuffle.
|
Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
Love how quickly the music starts - it's actually quicker than on my PC I think
|
Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
Now it working looks brill..yes a shuffle would be nice also not having to log in all the time when you come out of it.:)
You dont have to log in all the time it does it for you ..nice. |
Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
Logged in once, had a quick play. Couldn't find a box to search for artists/songs/albums. Exited app. Went to log back in, doesn't save password.... Typed in again and box crashed :(
Rebooted and this time it recognised me (no login required) however box crashed again :( Visually it looks ok, and presuming there is somewhere you can search then it will be ok as an app, however I can't ever really see me favouring it over sonos if I want to listen to music:cool: |
Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
There isn't a search....yet
|
Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
Seems to have settled down. Definitely a big step in the right direction UI and function wise compared to some of the earlier apps. Search will improve it further but you can at least make playlists on your portable device or desktop and they will be playable from the TiVo

Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
no search but ive managed to get all the glee albums up for example and play songs from there and you can star them, im not a premium member so i have no idea why i can play tracks
|
Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
Out of interest. If I have the premium license can I use it on a friends TiVo when I am around there?
|
Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
just tried it works great thanks VM :)
|
Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
managed to make a few tracks as a star and can log into and see the tracks on my phone. Also album art is there when in full screen but seems its only on certian albums, ive managed to play MJ, The jackson 5, glee and rhianna

---------- Post added at 19:46 ---------- Previous post was at 19:44 ---------- found out why, been on site and it says "Subscription status You are registered for Spotify Premium until 2011-11-30. After this period your account will become a Spotify Free account unless you choose to renew your subscription." |
Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
Might be working away in the background, but been using Spotify for a while, have over 1600 tracks starred, but only 300 odd appearing on my stared list on TiVo. Hope shuffle gets added soon too.
Great start though. |

Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
All my large playlists max out at 300 tracks it seems, hardly ideal
|
Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
No search and no shuffle!
Do the people who designed it use a music streaming service? I have a freebie account that I would have upgraded to Premium for a while to check it out on Tivo, but lack of the above, puts me off. Have they got the 'Artist Radio' function on Tivo? |
Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
The lack of a search function on pretty much any app that uses a database is unforgivable. It's a fundamental feature, and if you leave it out you obviously flunked several classes on how to be a software developer.

Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
Just has 'Whats New' and your playlists. Basic but nice to play it via the TV.
Tip: If your user name has an underscore character in it, like mine, then you can't log in using the Tivo remote as the '0_' button toggles between '0' and space. I thought I was doomed but then the Tivo Commander app came to the rescue with its keyboard input that had the necessary character. |

Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
Much easier to navigate this with a USB keyboard. Especially for weird character access on user/pass combos.
|
Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
Im sure i heard somwhere search will be added eventualy.
|
Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
Brilliant app.. really smart looking too :)

Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
Always been interested in Spotify but never taken the plunge. More intertested now with the Tivo app. Does spotify have a minumu sub? Or can i try the prem sub for a month and cancel if i dont like it?

Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
Thanks, i filled the VM forum online to upgrade from XL (20mb) to XL (30mb) which is required and pay £30 for the new router.
I was told an email and letter would be sent to confirm prices changes. And was pleasantly surprised to find a £1.50 reduction pm. So a 10mb upgrade, spotify for 6mnths all for £30 and £1.50 less pm month! |
Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
Sadly you do get the Super Hub though, and that has been derided quite a lot since release, more so than the TiVo. Some people were rebooting theirs several times a day in order to keep a working internet connection... maybe they've fixed all that now but I very much doubt it!

It's still awful as a router though. Makes you wonder why VM bothered. |

First 24hrs.... No reboots and looks good!! Fingers crossed |
Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
Strange. My ex-VM D-Link DIR-615 D2 is pretty stable when running DD-WRT, only needs rebooting once a week and that's usually due to a signal fault on VM's end which has knocked the cable modem offline and ruined the DHCP forwarding of the WAN IP.
|
Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
This sort of thing seems to be me to be really impressive to have arrived on VM's Tivo, although it's strange to not have shuffle and search... a bit half baked compared to Spotify apps on everything else.
I wonder if VM are routing all Spotify traffic over the internet, or if they've got a dedicated route given the amount of traffic they might expect it'll generate? |
Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
Anyone know if there are any plans for the spotify app to contain a "random" function?
This is a massive inconvenience when you have large playlists that play the same songs everytime. |
Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
Got to say the spotify app is terrible.
Takes me about 4 mins to scroll to the end of my playlists! Disappointed |
Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
Spotify free with a subscription to The Times.
