( me ) yes ( salesman ) can i tell you about sky and give you a price for skys services ) ( me ) ok ( salesman) sky + hd, broadband and telelphone and one multiroom box. ( me ) hang on mate i have 3 multiroom boxes from virgin. ( salesman ) sky give you one free, but you have to pay for the others. £49.95 each. ( me ) i didnt have to pay anyhting to virgin ! ( salesman ) yes but our boxes are better ! ( me ) ok then mate cut to the chase how much ? ( salesman ) sky + hd, broadband and telephone 3 multiroom boxes £ 85.00,per month. one off payment £49.95 x2 = £ 99.90, for two extra multiroom boxes ! ( me ) your taking the **** ! ( salesman ) no why you say that ? ( me ) i got tvxl, 30meg broadband, telephone, 3 multiroom boxes £ 71.95 a month ! can you beat that. ? ( salesman ) .................................................. ..................silence. ( me ) think this conversation is over mate dont you byeeeeeeeee. HIGHLIGHT OF MY DAY ! |

My sons love me winding the Sky man up in the local shopping centre.
I let them get going then ask them about the bb speeds and usage policies. They usualy give up at that point :D |

The Sky salesman here tried telling me that Sky offer 30Mb broadband and then tried to pretend he didn't know how ADSL worked when I told him the best I could get is 6Mb.

And don't people have anything better to do than waste someone's time if you're not interested in the service?! e.g. going up to someone in a shopping centre just to mess them about. Sky do get killed by multiroom. They need to sort that out. If you want a Sky+HD box it's cheaper to get another account as they give you a free box! |

i did the same thing to a sky salesman in bootle he even quoted me a price of £120 as soon as i don't told him my monthly cost £118 he couldn't beat it even if he tried.

Maybe I should add that if they are polite and ask me how I am etc (give me a chance to speak) I'll often let them know right at the start that I work for VM and then we can end the call quickly and they can pester someone who may actually buy from them.

To be fair it's acceptable to a lot of people.
haven't got a clue why though. maybe they're just grateful for having an installation in the first place so the sloppy work isn't a concern. |
