Help........ :(

I've just returned home to find my TiVo lit up like a Christmas tree and refuses to turn on!

http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/a...7/29059368.jpg
The iPhone flash seems to have washed out the colours, so from left to right they're as follows: Orange, Orange, Green, Red, Red, Red, Pink

Is this indicating that the update is in progress? I haven't powered off at the plug in case it is the much talked about update and I interrupt it.

Any help would be very welcome. :)

I didn't get chance to watch TiVo this morning before work, but it definitely didn't have all the lights on this morning.

It's been like this now since I came home around 5. :(

Ahhh, ok no worries mate. You should consider the upgrade to TiVo, this thing is light years ahead of the V+HD box it replaced. :)

I'd suggest posting on our Community Forum so they can run some remote tests.

Thanks for your help DF, your knowledge is invaluable at times like these. :D

I've decided to go for the turn off at plug option and the good news is it's alive & the software version is 15.2.RC8.

The bad news is that it's rebooted it's self twice since my last post. :(

Would you still suggest posting on the community forum or would the 150 chaps be able to run the same tests?

Currently awaiting the 10th reboot of the night :(

Great to see the Keighley chaps on the Forum. :)

Ive lost count of the amount of reboots I've had now (over 30) but it wont even stay turned off without rebooting and an engineer can't get to me until Saturday.......

Re: Help........ :(

Well I did mention it going out of the window! :D

I also brought up the question of cancelling but that department was closed. :p:

If I had the prehistoric Sky box, I'd even be able to watch the football in HD.

Right, engineer has just been and after initially replacing my box with another faulty TiVo, he had to get the last remaining 1TB model in his van.

Thankfully this one is working well so far *touch wood* and is currently happily downloading the next 14 days EPG data.

Now I'm just eagerly awaiting the VM TiVo iPad app. :D

Hey Doz, good news. How many days was it between asking for an engineer visit and the engineer replacing your box?

Doz007 26-11-2011 15:17

Re: Help........ :(

I called the TiVo faults team on Tuesday evening and the engineer turned up today. Ideally I'd have liked that to be shortened but I think the timescale will be very area dependent to be honest mate.

Good luck with getting yours sorted. This Update seems to have been the death of a quite a few poor unsuspecting TiVos unfortunately. :(

Re: Help........ :(

3 days? Not bad. Shame mine broke just before the weekend. :(

It might be related to the update but from what I've read this morning seems like it could be a hard drive failure. Can't really tell without being able to do diagnostics on the box itself.
