Re: Toddler run over and ignored by passer-bys
I won't watch the video Hom3r but i can imagine the terror the child went through and it fills me with anger and despair that humans can be so uncaring to anybody let alone a small child :mad::mad::mad::mad:

Re: Toddler run over and ignored by passer-bys
Yes, seen it.
No, not surprised. I read that one person, who brought someone they found ill in the street to a hospital, was made to pay some of the hospital expenses. So, in a society like that, not surprised. We breed hard hearts (governments), then surprised that it is that way. it is a sad world, don't think it will get any better |
Re: Toddler run over and ignored by passer-bys
I saw this the other night, wasn't sure if it would be viable to post the full vid on this site.
Really shocking, and really sad. I can't really put the words I want to say into text. :( |
Re: Toddler run over and ignored by passer-bys
What has society come to?
This is awful. :( Its sad to think people can ignore and leave another human being, especially a child like this. |
Re: Toddler run over and ignored by passer-bys
Another reflection on China`s attitudes, even most of the Chinese people are shocked at how low their country has sunk regarding attitudes towards other peoples pain and suffering!
I read that a couple of people have helped in the same situation and ended up with massive compensation costs and allgations against them! |

It's hard to know why no one stopped, I imagine it was a herd mentality as everyone else saw no one else helping and were overtaken by a selfish desire to avoid litigation as you mentioned. |

Re: Toddler run over and ignored by passer-bys
Very distressing to watch.
I actually think that these people are your typical deep rooted ones. the ones who haven't got a clue. they're the kind of ones who you see over here that haven't got a clue when it comes to driving. and haven't got a clue what they've done wrong. |
Re: Toddler run over and ignored by passers-by
Could not watch it all . That is the sickest indictment of humanity I have ever seen.

I didn`t say that they were inhuman did i? You do know that in China, they leave newborn baby girls just in the gutter to die don`t you? I did`nt actually watch the link as i have a 7 year old Grand daughter and i`d find any kind of link like that distressing. |
Re: Toddler run over and ignored by passers-by
I don't think you can blame china, or its culture.
I've seen some shocking things in UK, not sure anyone can cast a stone against a country |
Re: Toddler run over and ignored by passers-by
i haven't even bothered opening the link, sounds way too distressing. theres been a bit on child trafficking/auctions/selling on tv lately so as inhumane as this sounds, it does not surprise me that this has now happened... bloody wake up call!!

It is not China. It is select individuals and they can be found in any country. These are selfish people with no morals. |

Yes, You were getting at most of that. However I don't think it was especially indicative of China's society, I suspect that the gender of the child didn't matter much in this case. I know that there are some cases of newborn baby girls being abandoned or worse by their parents in China, Asian cultures a lot of importance on having a son to carry on the family line and that is troublesome in a country that had (has?) a one child policy. However that is not a common practise in China, most families don't do that because they are not inhuman. It's also not that they don't care if a girl lives or dies, it's just that they would prefer a son in their own family. So it doesn't explain why they left this girl alone in the road. |
Re: Toddler run over and ignored by passers-by
Something I found, which I feel make another point. Is the dog better than the people who ignored the other girl.
A dog pulls another dog that was hit on a motorway to safety. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXXaRECHHT4 |

Not surprised to see her die :(
But what an awful video and I can't believe so many passer by's just ignored her, let alone the two drivers who ran her over. :( |

Re: Toddler run over and ignored by passers-by
The two van drivers have been arrested, and people are call for the death penalty, which China is very well know for giving.

I thought hard about it, and as it was freely available on the Sky news site, I decided to link to the story rather than the video link itself. |
