Actor Zachary Quinto reveals he is gay and that having starred in the AIDS-themed play Angels in America made him realize he's lucky, in a new profile in New York magazine.

You could tell it in Heroes as well but who cares as he is a fine actor.

He is a good actor.. I liked the way he played both Sylar and Spock.

Lucky you ,but seriously ,who the hell cares does it matter and why is he and you making a big deal of it .I'm fairly certain that it isn't that big of a revelation to people that know him

Personally, it doesn't matter to me. If an actor or actress is good at their job, they are good at it regardless of who they sleep with or fancy.

Even if I fancy them, their sexuality doesn't bother me, after all, I am unlikely to meet them so regardless of which gender they fancy, the chances are, I won't be sleeping with them.

As an example, I fancy Anne Heche. At the time I first noticed her, she was living with Ellen DeGeneres.

I think he is a good actor but in the startrek film i think he showed to much emotion for a Vulcan and in the next film will proberbly get it right as it does take time.

Even with Nimoy it took a while to get Spock right.

That's the thing. People think that Vulcans in Star Trek have no emotions (in fairness, that's how the original series showed them), but later series (particularly The Next Generation and Enterprise) showed them to have emotions that are just deeply suppressed. Spock, being half human, is unable to suppress his emotions as deeply.

That's because the Nimoy version was a lot older and was more adept at supressing his feelings ,plus it's not real ,it's only pretend

Yes l agree in that it does not matter one hoot whether a person is gay or not as l know several gay people and they are lovely to talk to.

I also know several gay people and they are total prats ...the same as a few of the straight people i know and the same with some of the people who i have no idea of their sexual preference .My point being we are the same despite some peoples determination to draw attention to what they percieve as a difference that warrants special attention .
In my view if gay people stopped poncing about announcing to all and sundry that they are gay and just got on with life then other people would just let them because realy not that many people actually care if they are gay or not ,exactly the same that they do not care that i am 6ft 2" straight and going bald (alot)

To be honest (and this is coming from a fan of the film and the cast) if that was the case he's not a very good actor as Spock isn't gay

Well if a celebrity with a cult following comes out, it can cause some interest especially from gay rights groups who see this sort of this as helping others feel more comfortable about coming out.

If it had just been because his career was flagging and/or he had a film coming out then I might agree

However he came out after the gay teen in the US that had previously appeared in the 'It Gets Better' campaign killed himself, one of many gay teens in the US to do so recently.
