Virgin aims to tickle loyal customers.

Quote:

Virgin Media puts smiles on customers’ faces with a tickle.

Virgin Media today unveiled a new strategic marketing campaign aimed at existing customers to reward them for their loyalty with magic moments as well as highlighting the great value extras they already get at no extra cost. A red feather provides visual continuity across the Tickle campaign for any ‘tickle’ that lucky customers receive.

If they do I wonder if they would accept nominations, 'cause I can think of a couple of members whose names I could forward. :D

Hopefully 'loyal' refers to more than a few years but I'm not bothered, never going to win anything so why fuss.

A ‘tickle tour’ will begin in mid October, with Virgin Media surprising a small and select number of customers across the country with an incredible basket of gifts including a whopping 40 inch HD TV, a free TiVo® Service set-top box, a year’s free TiVo subscription and more
I was wondering if anyone has seen anything further about the 'tickle tour' mentioned in my original link.

Well Ellesmere Port got a Tickle at the weekend.
Quote:

Keith George and his family were specially selected to receive one of five exclusive ‘Big Tickles’ as part of Virgin Media’s UK Tickle Tour.

As a thank you for referring lots of their friends to Virgin Media, they were surprised with the full red-carpet treatment and a range of gifts.

They included a year’s subscription to Virgin Media’s TiVo service complete with a set-top box, a 40in 3D TV and a Blu-Ray home cinema system.

They were also given a food hamper before enjoying a free film of their choice on their new TiVo service.

I can see this backfiring as it descends into "tickle envy".

Hardly ever use the phone, and got £6/month worth of tickle on it... Is it like supermarket offers, they try to tempt you into something else, rather than a special on what you already use.

Another tickle I've seen mentioned "£60 worth" of PC healthcheck.

Maybe we should try and collect a list, to feed the tickle envy even more!

PS. Looks like there is a special bonus tickle prize draw for "recommend a friend"

I take it that is a rhetorical question starfish. :D

Our door bell rang on Friday and John went to see who was there. I gradually tuned into what was being said when I heard John saying that "Yes we had been with VM for donkey's years" and "no we didn't have Films or Sports"

I soon came down to earth and put away my elation at maybe being 'Ticked' when I glanced down the hall to see that the caller was wearing a Sky name tag. :(

lol, its all a load of rubbish...

Im on 100Mbit, have a TiVo box, 2x V+ boxes, 1 VHD box.. all Sky Premium HD activated... got almost every telephone addon going.. eg 3 way calling, block witheld numbers, caller display, talk international, talk mobile...top telephone tier.. top tv tier etc.

and the best tickle VM could manage is,

Talk 08 Plan for free, make 250 minutes worth of 0845 and 0870 calls free every month...

This plan isnt even listed on their website as existing!!

and whats even funnier... I claimed this tickle through their website, http://tickle.virginmedia.com/

about a week ago, and they are only just emailing me today offering it.. lol despite having already claimed it

Don't see any issue with that.

Only way you could have got the 'tickle' before the e-mail is if you logged onto the website because you knew about it from here.

The emails they are sending out will be going out in prepared mailshots, independent on whether you've actually already claimed it or not

Most customers won't know of the Tickle site until they get the email

So last night I turn on the V+ box I have upstairs and it takes a while before it pops up saying I have been tickled and they have given me Sky Premium HD on my other boxes for free.
Erm....Issue is I am VIP50 so had that anyway!

So now I'm guessing you only get tickled once so a bit cheesed off if that is the case and they think they have tickled me with something I already have.
As it's essentially a freebie I guess there's no one I can actually complain to?
Complain is not the right word really just wanting to be tickled with something I don't already have that's all. Caller ID, free change from V+ to Tivo, I don't know whatever just something I don't already have.

Re: Virgin aims to tickle loyal customers.

I`m on vip 50 as well digital and I seem to have the sky premium channels on both the box downstairs and the one upstairs.

edit. My post above doesnt seem to make much sense now but there was another post above mine which has now gone, from digitalfanatic saying the vip 50 should only have sky premium on 1 box

Re: Virgin aims to tickle loyal customers.

Yep I have an email saying Digital Fanatic had replied with the following due to subscribing to the thread.

Quote:

VIP50 only entitled you to one box with free/inclusive Sky Premium HD. How many boxes have you got?
Maybe he realised he was wrong since Virgin pulled the multiroom charge on this once Sky also did the same thing. I think it was from October 1st but not 100%

Re: Virgin aims to tickle loyal customers.

The Sky Premium HD channels are now per account so if you have VIP50 it should be on any HD activated you boxes you have anyway. Or if you aren't on VIP50 and are paying to have them separately it is for the whole account as well, not per box.

Seems like your tickle wasn't all that ticklish!

Re: Virgin aims to tickle loyal customers.

'Sam' part of the Facebook Virgin Team also said it was per box before I corrected him. He came back a bit later and said I was correct but my tickle would not be replaced :o(
Makes me think if a staff member on here and Facebook still think it is per box then doesn't surprise me they are sending out wrong tickles.

I don't blame DF or Sam (as it may not be their area to know) or anyone really just that I get tickled and think finally me after spending over £100 a month with them and then they tickle me with something I already in effect pay for!

Re: Virgin aims to tickle loyal customers.

That isn't good. I know these are free tickles but they are being given out as a way to thank loyal customers for their custom. It doesn't make you feel all that great when they give you something you already pay for. And they can't even discount your package by the amount because it is included already!

If you had been paying £7 per month extra and they knocked £7 off your bill, that would be good. Maybe that is what they think they have done??

Re: Virgin aims to tickle loyal customers.

It will have been sent to all customers with Sky HD on at least one box. It's to point out that it's now on all boxes and is per account - not everyone will have been already aware

Fair enough I'm all for a bit of communication from Virgin but don't call it a tickle then.
All the tickles I have read about on various forums and facebook/twitter etc have all been customers getting a little extra like the 0870/0845 phone bundle or pc healthcheck etc.
Don't send a message through my tv saying I have been tickled and point out something I already have.

The original announcement about tickles seem to highlight that your tickle is valid:

http://mediacentre.virginmedia.com/S...ckle-21b0.aspx

"Virgin Media today unveiled a new strategic marketing campaign aimed at existing customers to reward them for their loyalty with magic moments as well as highlighting the great value extras they already get at no extra cost."

"They will be directed to a tickle terminal, an online destination where they can see individual tickles meant just for them, as well as alerted to things they already get but may not realise which draws attention to ways they can get the most out of their subscription."

Re: Virgin aims to tickle loyal customers.

I see what you are saying Chad.
Hopefully I will get retickled with something I don't already pay for then.
Just annoying reading here and elsewhere people getting other freebies and currently a person taking phone, tv, BB and mobile from them gets nothing.......as yet

Re: Virgin aims to tickle loyal customers.

Well I've just seen their video http://tickle.virginmedia.com/tickle-team/, and someone is getting a new TV and a Tivo box. Now that's what I call a tickle. I wonder how long have they been with them. With all that it must have been from RB's birth.

That makes Trickytree's tickle look even more like a slap in the face:D

In seriousness I hope trickytree does get a nice tickle.

Maybe they'll send you a tickle to let you know you can now access SKY Anytime. Based on Trickytree's experience, that would be a valid tickle!
