What is your favourite Sci Fi Series

I have several series which l am enjoying at the moment and those would be Babylon 5 and Star Trek Deep Space Nine and of the older series which l love are Land Of The Giants and Planet Of The Apes and several others as well.

Babylon 5 is my all time favorite ,i have them all on my NAS drive and can quite happily watch the whole series over and over again :D

closely followed by SGI/Atlantis (universe was the sorriest piece of telly ever)

Andromeda wasn't too bad either

Dross like Andromeda in that list, yet no Firefly? Atlantis & Universe, yet no SG-1?

BSG... Original, or re-imagining?

For me... nuBSG, B5, SG-1, Firefly, and The X Files. I love Doctor Who (old & new), but it's not at the top of my list. The first season of Heroes was excellent, the rest were... not.

No Farscape either.

Falling Skies is included and that hasn't even aired a full season yet and Heroes makes the list over The 4400? It's absurd

Certainly should. It spawned Atlantis and Universe (which are in the poll even though their parent isn't), and once held the record for longest consecutive running science fiction TV series (until it was recently beaten by Superman's Creek :( ).

I was tempted to edit the poll to add it, but there's no space left.

I'd agree with you there, series one was great. I could never understand why originally it was shown at 2am on ITV.

Sliders was a big favourite of mine although the last couple of series really lost the plot and got a bit stupid.

Dark Skies was also great but sadly got cut very short, I still have all the epsiodes on my external HDD and watch every so often.

All the Star Trek and Stargate series as well as Babylon 5.

In fact I am such a big Sci-Fi geek that I love most of the series that has been mentioned al ready.

So so hard pretty much any sci-fi series,

Space Above and Beyond ( i think there is still little piece of me holding out for a return  :erm:)
Star Trek
Babylon 5
SG-1
X-files
And so many good shows cancelled by stupid American tv executives
Firefly, 4400 etc

Most of the ones on the list, plus a bunch mentioned in the thread.

Hard to name an overall favorite, but if pushed Id probably say Babylon 5.

Yeah, there was one series and it was shown, when I saw it, dead late at night on Ch4in the late 80's early 90's.

There loads I keep remembering.

The Fantastic Journey (or Voyage) starring Roddy MacDowell

Otherworld (I think) very similar to the Fantastic Journey, used to be on a Sat Morning, about a family on another world searching for their daughter having to follow oblisks, each day find themselves in a different town.

Automan computer generated superhero, with a computer generated lamborghini, well with blue neon strip lights.

Logans Run the TV series of the film, It was rerun not so long ago on one of the channels.

Battlestar Galactica 1980 Adama has a beard, did Boomer replace Tigh?, two wooden, as wooden could be, leads in Troy and Dillon and the Milky Bar kid as some super brain

I remember Time Express starring Vincent Price, where people went back in time to relive important moments in their life.

A few more.

The invisible man starring David Macallum

Gemini Man Invisible man clone that controls his invisibility via his watch.

A man Called Sloane a james bond rip off. partnered by a guy with a metal hand.

Why is the ORIGINAL Stargate missing? That was the best one.

---------- Post added at 14:26 ---------- Previous post was at 14:19 ----------

However the best series of all has to be Babylon 5.It had everything a SF series requires.
Science, interesting humans and aliens,a sweeping backstory, quests, mystery, war, treachery, telepaths(a lways need those),a love story and some truly beautiful ships and cities and some very stylish clothing. The only SF series that had the latter was SG9 with the Furengi clothing.

DS9?

A bit of trivia about that.

Apparently the fact that the set and costume design for DS9 was so colourful was a reaction to the perception that the TNG set design was quite muted, and almost monochrome.

Well the real trouble with ST in general was the boring situation of so many spandex Federation uniforms.Yes they were colourful but they were truly terrible as far as style went. The costumes always looked so cheap.

I think the best character in B5 had to be G'Kar - played by the late great Andreas Katsulas, he evolved so much as a character.
