I received my email today - yay, well done VM. Interestingly, it said that I had bought my TiVo at £149.99 - so does this that it's mine to keep? I was always under the impression that all the hardware remained the property of VM.

Best bit of news on " Coming soon to Virgin TV" in a long time--we are to get the £50.00 back that we overpaid / were overcharged on the TIVO.

Have to say a big well done to virgin media for doing this as they didn't have to so a big pat on the back from me.

We will now have to see how long it takes them to credit our accounts now.

One thing I would like to know is the box ours or are we renting it?

We rent the box but the good thing is all repairs are done free of charge by Virgin even if that means that they end up giving you another box.

I got my refund email on Wednesday although I have emailed them to ask whether I shall be getting a refund for both the 1TB boxes I bought at £149. I shall let you know their response for those who are in a similar position.

All sorted for me, well done VM, I was on verge of phoning and it happened :)

Although they did promise the the early adopters and existing customers would get a special deal so it does only seem fair, well done all the same though !!

I got an email today even though I returned my TiVo after 10 days,when I rang and explained the situation the CS Rep appeared quite embarrassed asking me to "please disregard the email then":o:

For any of those who purchased two 1TB TiVo boxes at £149, I have just had a response to my email from VM regarding the refund amount.

They have confirmed that I shall be receiving £100 credit on my account within the next two months, £50 for each box. I thought that is what they would do but didn't want to count on it until I had confirmation, which I now do by the way of an email.

Well it will be on the next anounced bill i would asume, so if you got the email after they told you what you were gonna pay this month, it will be on the next.

It possibly might be. However when you actually get the credit depends on when your bill is generated and when they put the credit on.

e.g. if your bill is generated on the 15th of this month and they put the credit on the account on the 16th then you wouldn't actually get the credit until next month i.e. the next bill

Yes you are correct I got my credit (actual credit) last week (6th) it misses my July bill date as this as already been processed

At the moment my account is showing a credit off £50 I expect this to be taken off my August Bill

It's only for those that paid £149 + any appropriate install for the 1TB box

The 500GB was, and still is £49.95 + install

you pay your bill at same time every month regardless so i cant figure why they dont just put the credit on straight away

they still get paid the same amount on the same day whenever they put it on

Because once the bill has been generated the direct debit will be set and they can't automatically change that, so the credit reduces the payment on the next bill instead.

Oh my gosh go away for three weeks and come back to all this!!?? I think I've figured out the 'why' of the rebate from some of the links in the thread. I purchased 2 Tivo's installed on the 15th April. Looks like someone has confirmed that if two installed then £100 refund onto bill.

I've just found the email in my inbox from the 6th, but it only mentions a £50 rebate - should I call and confirm that it will be two?

I'm so grateful to this forum and the people (or most of them) on it - what do other people do who don't come here or don't have a clue what's going on??

Definitely VM is getting better in a lot of areas (in my opinion) and they did catch this one quicker than the last couple of potential fiascos, but they really do need to work on communication. From my recent experience since January customer service both local and abroad have been really helpful and no issues at all, but communication is where they're still struggling IMO

Don't think that's really fair. Virgin have emailed all customers who paid the higher price, as you've found out yourself

What else would you expect them to do?

If someone 'hasn't a clue what's going on' then they'll be pleasently pleased when they get the refund on one of the next two bills

But why do VM wait until people start complaining before they do anything, they need to be more proactive and see these things coming. If they did indeed intend to refund customers who did pay the full price for TiVo they should have sent the email to the refunded customers the day they announced the price reduction. It is unnecessary bad publicity that can be avoided.

Please note I gave them credit for catching on quicker this time - and I said 'struggling' not failing. And as for the rest of the services I give them top marks - even the overseas CS has been extremely helpful and on the ball with anything I've been dealing with since January. I know that's not necessarily other people's experiences, but I'm actually trying to give credit where it's due.

Alwaysbear kind of made the point for me - if they were going to do it they should have pre-empted it with the email, not sent the email as what appeared to be an afterthought - even if it wasn't.

All I was saying. And as a side point I said about this forum and the members and how much great info and support we get from here - even at times when VM CS on the front lines don't know the answer.

But all in all things have improved and you won't find me changing from VM unless something disastrous happens to finances in future. While I have a choice - it's VM all the way! They have come on in leaps and bounds.

I had 50 pounds credit applied to my account today, but I had 2 1tb tivos installed on the same day.

Will the other 50 pounds follow automatically or do I need to ring VM?

will be watching with interest as I just checked and only one applied to mine. It may be that the credits are being applied separately. I know when I called she looked into my account and said she could see credits pending for both.
