Hmm strange; it must be over utilization on your UBR; have you phoned virgin over this?

Re: Nothing working properly ?

Yep i have and also posted umpteen times on their official website, its not very good tho slow answers. a guy in 1 postcode on from me says he has been on at them since February about a similar issue, mine really only manifested itself from June and 27 days in i havent had an internet connection that "works" peak times.

we dont have 100mbit planned here yet, but that will probably be when they get round to sorting it out again (for another few months and the whole game starts again... Its suburban London... there are 10 of 1000s of customers served in this area alone... I appreciate its a big job to upgrade but its shocking that they dont plan better for the obvious.

Re: Nothing working properly ?

Even stranger; Its a high uptake area roughly the same as stoke-on-trent

http://ukinternetreport.co.uk/cmts/d...=Seven%20Kings

http://ukinternetreport.co.uk/cmts/d...tok&town=Stoke

And if you compare to stoke on trent the seven-kings one has much flatter lines closer together

Not really the most accurate comparison LOL

Re: Nothing working properly ?

yeah mines still Shocking its liek comparing a turd and a poo :)

Do you mind posting some screenshots of what speeds you get downloading files

Re: Nothing working properly ?

i download at FULL speed sometimes more than expected 3.8Mb sec easily

No issues with download at the moment just terrible lag/jitter ping and disconections... just had another..

TJS 27-06-2011 18:13

Re: Nothing working properly ?

Probably wont make any difference but could be worth a try; Have you tried resetting the hub? there is a small reset switch that you need to press using a unbent paperclip or something similar

3.75 * 8 = 30 mb/s exactly :D I hope they fix your other problems because thats a solid download speed :)

Re: Nothing working properly ?

He came he changed every connection, redid all the power levels to optimal, tried another hub.... all the time it wouldnt sync up.

Well i have a load of new shiney connectors and a new bit of wire but its back to stage 1.. everything in the house is 100% spot on now... so as suspected just a local VM fail issue.

TJS 28-06-2011 10:12
