I have been informed today by a VM AFM that the remote recording goes live on Monday 13th June for the TiVo. ;)

I thought it was but I was informed it was available from Monday (Nottingham) and I was shown a list of compatible phones to which it can be done by?

Doesn't it only allow you to set a recording up to 35 minutes in advance? Not much use if you have a two hour drive home.

Itsays to allow about 30 minutes to process the remote request, so anything starting within that time might not record, but you can set it hours in advance.

Oh, you mean remote recording by phone. Remote recording from a web browser has been available since launch.

35 minutes is the minimum time, not the maximum.

So has from the mobile site, so unless this is a release of an app to do it, I don't see what's new.

Maybe its going to actually work. Of about 20 attempts from my Blackberry only 3 have worked. And I am now getting the "don't look like you've got an active Tivo" message again.

Oh thanks. I obviously read something backwards then. So it means that you cannot set anything to record that is about to start any sooner than about 30 minutes.

I haven't been able to even log into to the mobile tv guide for the last 2 days, It keeps saying there is a technical problem. So doesn't look like it will be working today.

On my Blackberry when I try to go to the TV guide I am getting HTTP Error 502 : Bad Gateway. I've been getting this for a couple of days now. Is this the same for everyone?

Yes, I'm signed in ( on a PC, not a mobile device ) and it's for a programme more than 35 minutes in advance.

Any suggestions ?

Make sure youve selected your area from the drop down box top left or you`ll always get the cant record message.

I got that the first few times I tried to record but since then it's been perfect. I have no idea why.

Thank you. I didn't know you could do this. Just tried from my iPad and set up a recording for a prog that starts in 20 mins - got the warning about 35 mins but it seems to have worked.

Yes same for me,

wish I could record via my iPhone it would make life a bit simpler at times

Setting recording via my laptop is good set most of my recordings that way now

When I couldn't use mobile site on HTC desire (android) I could still use phone via the normal internet site, just take the 'm' out the start of the address. Bit more fidley on the phone, but worked ok. I assume I phone will be the same.

I tired my mobile other day and Kazapppp! it worked a treat

I dont see why it wouldn't work on your mobile if you use regular web address - anyhooo mine worked

The mobile Remote Record site on the iPhone still tells me that I don't have an active TiVo box!! Very frustrating.

I can set up recordings fine from the iPad or laptop though, anybody got any ideas? :)

I use the Android app on sky but there is an Iphone/Ipad app also but..

On the Sky remote record you need to makes sure you set the recording 20 minutes before the programme starts it may be the same for Tivo?

Alsp if the Ipad app works then the Iphone app will, or there is something strange going on.

Yes you need 20 mins.

It is an iPad app because it needs the bigger screen. If there was an iPhone app it might make sense to have an android app but as this is for tablets not phones, no other OS has enough Market share to make it worth developing for. Yet.

There is no iPad app yet available in the UK, he means the desktop version of the Virgin TV Guide site. On a mobile browser it redirects to mobile version of the site and for some reason some people are having a issue where it says that you do not have a Tivo, but the main desktop version acknowledged that they do.

I was getting the No Active Tivo problem on my iPhone using

but i tried a different way to log in using the link below instead

This takes you to what looks like the same place but it works fine & allows me to set & record programs
