enat light not on......Very confused!!
 

Hi all, right i am currently using a ntl 250 modem connected to a D-link wireless router, my internet all worked fine wired on my laptop and ps3 before but recently swapped ps3 for xbox and now i cant use the ethernet cable on both the xbox and laptop, the enat light on the modem dont come on if i run the ethernet wire straight to the xbox or laptop but plug it in the back of the router it lights up? but both work fine wireless! very stumped as to why? tried everything possible but no luck, any ideas would be great please!!

If you change any equipment to the modem (remove router and plug XBOX in ) you have to reboot the modem.

Hey, i used to have my ps3 wired through the router and the laptop wireless, but the xbox and laptop dont work through the router wired! but bth work wireless :-/ i reckon it could be a duff modem yes!! thanks.......

If the laptop and PS3 work over wireless and not wired, something is wrong with the router and not the modem.

i have just installed a new router from virgin media! D-link still no wired connection :-/

the modem enat light lights up when i plug the router in to it but wont pick up the xbox or laptop

You do have a wired connection,- from your modem to your router!
