PSN Store back by end of week

I have missed the store, will be great to get back into my PSN + as I had a hard drive corruption and need to download some of my games again!

Yeah Im looking forward to grabbing my free games, and being able to put all my DLC onto my new PS3 that I bought the day after it all went down unbeknownst to me!

If my 'net isn't sorted I may have to take my ps3 round my dads to get the freebies at this rate....

I'm thinking of getting inFAMOUS and Dead Nation

Re: PSN Store back by end of week

Yeah I was thinking Infamous (or Ratchet and Clank not made my mind up yet) and Dead Nation.

I've read on the T&Cs for the welcome pack, that the Free game downloads only work whilst your 30-day PS+ Subscription is active... I'm guessing its to get you to purchase the year's worth of it which is a bit of a cop-out IMHO.

I was thinking INFamous and LBP (as I don't have it)

That's the free games you get with the Playstation + service, not the free games theyre giving you

Re: PSN Store back by end of week

Oh right... it wasn't exactly clear, I thought you needed the PS+ to download games :)

No, you've always been able to download games from the normal playstation store

That just means you have 30 days access to get the free content. The two free games are yours to keep once downloaded. However any of the ps+ content you try out will probably stop working unless you take out a subscription to it.

Do we know yet how we go about claiming the free games?

That's still to be communicated out.

They are testing the system for you choosing 2 of the 5 games on offer, so should be soon.

Just saw on the playstation blog they are in final testing for the welcome back pack being made live. Hopefully tomorrow or Monday I would think.

Thanks guys - as I said, there's no rush from my point of view, but it's nice to know :)

I doubt it judging by the present amount of traffic building up trying to use the store.

i doubt that would affect whether they roll out the free stuff. as with the call of duty map packs whenever they came out it took forever for the store to become available to make a card purchase but they would still download

Re: PSN Store back by end of week

I spent about an hour searching for the free games....did wonder what was going on. As it was back online, I thought it would be all sorted and ready.

It's nice to get something free though for the downtime. Got my eyes on two which I'm looking forward to playing.

I heard it's double XP weekend or is that next weekend?

I think however that they need to release some kind of software to manage allowing you to only choose 2 out of the 5 titles.

Not really, it's tied to your PSN account so if they set the limit to two games then your av will not be able to choose more than that amount.

I think they just also want to let the network settle back in over a few days to see how things go.

Re: PSN Store back by end of week

double XP is down to the individual games, in the case of black ops it will be down to treyarch to sort that out, but the maps will be out for black ops on ps3 soon? not sure when but its got to be soon, that will give you double XP

Ravenheart 03-06-2011 18:59

Re: PSN Store back by end of week

The free Welcome back titles appear to have gone live

Though the world + Dog seem to be all logging in to get them ;)

Edit: And the "undergoing maintenance" message comes on and then the free titles link stops working. Though the 30 trial of PS+ link still there and working.
