Virgin Media makes talk even cheaper - apparently!
Here is a link to a press release this morning.
Sounds like pretty good value to me. Although the current £5 a month offer still seems like the best bargain of the moment. http://pressoffice.virginmedia.com/p...ews&id=1546621 |
Re: Virgin Media makes talk even cheaper - apparently!
I don't get it, so if I want a SIM only with Web I can't on this deal, it doesn't make sense. Also the price quoted for the Blackberry is more than they are offering now.

Offers in the press release are different If you have XL phone you get it for £9.99 with 100 Mins and Unlimited texts/VM to VM calls and 1GB On L you get for it for £11.32 with 100 Mins and 500 texts, Unlimited VM to VM and 1GB |
Re: Virgin Media makes talk even cheaper - apparently!
Hi, about 2 weeks ago me and my wife upgraded to the £15.32 tariff with blackberry 8520, before this we were on the £10.32 tariff. The £15.32 tariff gives me 100 mins, 500 texts, 1gb internet and unlimited virgin to virgin mins, but this new deal for xl customers is the same as mine with unlimited texts for £9.99! would I be able to change to this or am I stuck, seems a bit unfair!

Re: Virgin Media makes talk even cheaper - apparently!
[QUOTE=BenMcr;35206582]SIMO with Web are astill avaliable though, just not part of this offer at the moment.
Customer price is £10.21 at the moment for 50 mins/250 texts and Web Offers in the press release are different If you have XL phone you get it for £9.99 with 100 Mins and Unlimited texts/VM to VM calls and 1GB On L you get for it for £11.32 with 100 Mins and 500 texts, Unlimited VM to VM and 1GB[/QUOTE im on the £10.21 contract will i be able to change to this £9.99 offer or will i have to wait to after contract is finished |
Re: Virgin Media makes talk even cheaper - apparently!
If you are in a contract, you have to wait until it finishes before you can change to a cheaper tariff

Re: Virgin Media makes talk even cheaper - apparently!
I am on the £10.21 SIM only deal and have 200 minutes, 1GB internet, 3000 texts and 3000 Virgin to Virgin minutes (just checked it online).
Also I think (but not sure) I am only on a one month contract. Why is mine better than those quoted above? |
Re: Virgin Media makes talk even cheaper - apparently!
Because it's a SIM Only deal ;)
The ones we were discussing were for the Blackberry handset offer |
Re: Virgin Media makes talk even cheaper - apparently!
So these deals do not include Sim Only with Web, you have to get a handset ?
|
Re: Virgin Media makes talk even cheaper - apparently!
At present, that's correct. Probably because the SIMO deals are pretty good in their own right at the moment, so Virgin want to push handset/contract deals
|
Re: Virgin Media makes talk even cheaper - apparently!
Thanks for clearing that up. Shame, as I would have bought my way out of my current contract if the price was right for a Sim only. Not worth it at the moment as I only pay £15 a month now. Only 10 months till contract end.

Re: Virgin Media makes talk even cheaper - apparently!
Is this deal only available to 'L' and 'XL' phone packages? I'm on VIP20 with Talk Unlimited and wonder if I can take the offer?
If I can I have another question. I have a pay monthly Virgin mobile (out of contract) but not a different account. Would I be able to transfer that number over to the main account or would I have to take out a new number? |

I need a new phone so would be a good deal for me as currently on 120 min/120 texts for £12, just wasn't sure if having taken the original contract with Virgin Mobile would have caused some sort of problem. |
Re: Virgin Media makes talk even cheaper - apparently!
I have a friend who might be interested in this but wondered if there is a web page (other than the press link) with details of phones currently available for this offer? The HTC Desire isn't on the list of phones from VM at the moment.

Re: Virgin Media makes talk even cheaper - apparently!
On Easter Sunday a very helpful Indian lady from VM rang me. She tried to get me to have a Blackberry but during an hour on the phone I negotiated for my lad an HTC Desire with 600 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited internet, free Virgin to Virgin calls all for 17 pound something a month. Phone came Easter Tuesday as told and all has gone well since. He is delighted with the phone. Excellent deal. It is because I am on XL phone.
She rang from 08000 135333 |
Re: Virgin Media makes talk even cheaper - apparently!
Thanks for the reply, I'll let him know. Think he was hoping for a link to confirm availability before phoning just in case they tried to get him to take an alternative phone :)
