David Cameron gets a wakeup call on The One Show

This is sooo funny! hahahaha

The best bit, if you watch it back on the iPlayer, is when they switch the camera view back to Cameron. He fields the question very neatly, but you can see a reflection of Alex Jones in a window behind him, clapping her hands to her head in disbelief (this seems to be what has triggered this morning's feverish press speculation that this one question, out of all of them, was unscripted).

Always good to see a politician wrong footed lol :D

The thing is, he wasn't wrong-footed - he was taken by surprise but he answered it very well. Alex Jones on the other hand, was quite gobsmacked at naughty golden boy Matt for daring to ask a tough question on a soft sofa chat show. :D

I am not so sure that this was genuinely asked to wrong foot him. Matt Baker is not exactly a hard hitting journalist, certainly nowehre near Paxman and his ilk, let alone one who would know a tricky question, if it jumped up and bit him on the nose.

I really don't have any doubt that he had any interest in the Prime Minister's conscience, or if he had one at all. I truly believe he was asking how Cameron actually went to bed and had a good night's sleep, if he has to be up early in the morning. Alex Jones, on the otehr hand, just adjusted her hair.

I didn't see it as wrong footing Cameron at all and neither was it a tough question. Why on earth all the hype about this? Let's be honest what ever you think about Cameron or indeed any PM it IS a tough job. I am sure that there is a lot going on in the job that would keep many of awake at night even if Cameron was mr popular and handing out £50 notes to the entire population!

This is yet another stupid example of how the meeja constantly tried to make a story out of nothing. Any throw away line by any senior politico will do. In the end it doesn't help anyone and it's not good journalism either. :td:

A hard hitting journalist wouldn't ask such a question in the first place. It may have been the embodiment of his own dislike towards the Prime Minster which he , grossly unprofessionally, failed to keep in check.

Or it may have been related to how busy he is or the stress he is under.

Very well, apparently.

If I was Matt, I would have asked him if he thinks he may possibly be doing a bit too much, and if knows he'll never win the next election and that Labour will win outright because of it :)

He is obviously very good at fielding questions -but actually answering them?

Prehaps he should nip over and help us out in the cricket World Cup?

:)

The question is more suited to clegg, at least cameron is doing what is expected of his party, whilst clegg's party are doing an almost full U turn on policies.

I can't say I have ever heard him answer a direct question during Prime Minister's Questions. A bit ironic (and more than just a bit hypercritical), when he spent his time accusing the previous incumbent of the same thing.

I think you may mean "hypocritical", as it is most unlike you to be hyper-critical of the Conservative Party.....;)

You're having a laugh, Cameron is a joke for a conservative. He's rather left wing to say the least by the standards of his party and his description of himself as a liberal conservative is quite entertaining. The liberal bit is questionable and needs to be proven and the conservative bit is beyond comedy.

Clearly conservatism is a 1% real terms cut in the budget each year for 4 years after an unprecedented and largely unfunded expansion of the state. Shows how far we've sprinted to the left as a nation that it is considered as such.

The problem is that a lot of the time politicians are asked loaded questions and to answer them would accept the premise of the question.

Indeed, many of the "questions" are of the "Have you stopped beating your wife" form. Not even worthy of a withering put down.

But why so hypocritical (;)) now? He spent a good deal of his time in opposition berating the otherside for doing the same thing. Shouldn't he have the integrity to...........oh, sorry, forgot.

simple this "presenter" is still upset at the tv license being frozen by the government so he wont get his silly pay rise each year :(
