Players To Be Banned From Wearing Snoods

"Players to be banned from wearing neck-warming snoods"

But Tevez and company will now have do without the popular fashion accessory.

"The IFAB agreed that in relation to Law 4 - Players' Equipment, the wearing of snoods should not be permitted," said football's law makers.

Thet should be banned from wearing gloves too, unless they're in goal.

I don't understand why snoods/gloves or any other clothing which doesn't impact on the team strip should be banned?? It doesn't alter the game

Well if the unpaid guys who played on my local pitch in the snow can play with just shorts and top, so can these so called mega stars.

If they don't like it quit, and let those talented players who cannot get a break may get a chance.

Re: Players To Be Banned From Wearing Snoods

It still doesn't impact on the game and previous to this the unpaid guys could have worn them as well.. So your point isn't really any point at all

Sorry but what does that have to do with how they play the game? If they want to warm themselves up then who cares, there is nothing clever about 'toughing' out cold weather if you have the means to stay warm.

Re: Players To Be Banned From Wearing Snoods

When i played the game i always wanted to remove articles of clothing to cool down!not warm me up? whats wrong with these so called pro footballers, they should try getting into the game a bit more instead of standing about like dummies! or they could try playing rugby! see how much warmer they want to be then!

So players should expend energy keeping warm than playing the game???

Your body expends energy when warming you up.

The International Football Association Board (IFAB) has banned the snood with immediate effect. Spoilsports.

Love this bit

FIFA chief goon Sepp Blatter said that snoods are “dangerous – it can be like to hang somebody.”

I hope the football teams go away, redesign a top that has an intergrated collar and then let player wear it as this rule is pathetic

No it's not pathetic Kymmy, there is good reason to ban it .It's bad enough players being dragged about by their shirts now think how much more dangerous it would be if players were dragged back by a snood ,it is a law suit waiting to happen or a serious injury waiting to happen and as for the keeping warm argument that is just plain ridiculous .A fit player will keep plenty warm on the pitch running around .If that was ever a problem then the players would all be wearing coats and long johns .

Re: Players To Be Banned From Wearing Snoods

Surely dragging anyone round by their clothing should be stopped.. So what do you suggest - next we ban shirts, shorts, socks, boots..etc...

;)

You can't blame the clothing for players actions

It's called cheating Kymmy ;) it is illegal because football is a non contact sport(supposed to be) but the fact it is illegal doesn't stop it happening .But i see what you are saying ,if the players didn't feel the need to cheat by dragging other players around by their shirts then this wouldn't be an issue ,but they do so it is ,the little fairies only have themselves to blame ,if they stop cheating then their necks would nice and toasty ;)

Despite the attempts to make it non contact, Football is still a contact sport.

Never seen the attraction of snoods.

Have to agree with this 100% Not only do they look like pansies but with the stupid amounts of shirt-pulling that goes on in this game is stupid and if they continue to wear these Snoods... well surely everyone can see Carlos Tevez being dangled from the crossbar.

This game is full of clowns now and its a shame really. £250,000 a week players its not 'our' game anymore. Stoke City are about the closest thing to a football team in the Premierleague.

What happened to this game from 2000-2011

Oh please. Stoke are the closest thing to a football team in the Premier League? Why? Last time I checked there were 20 football teams in the Premier League, a lot of whom play quite successful football.

'Pansies'? This isn't the 80's. Footballers should be footballers and not worry about such ignorance.

I can't be bothered seriously arguing such a silly post, but i do find the highlighted part particularly funny coming from a pro wrestling fan.

And before you consider attacking me for that....................................YOU CAN'T SEE ME!

Pro Wrestling, Football.. Whats the difference?

Pro Wrestling is scripted and contains actors.

Football has been fixed plenty of times... and contains a lot of actors too. See: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mP5mLY16xTc

I hope you're watching Stoke vs West Ham right now. A dive to win a penalty and incessant bitching and whining because they think they were hard done by with a handball call.

Drama queens.
Freezing cold night, Rubber Nellie was in gloves but a short-sleeved shirt. ?
And no he didn't get to celebrate a goal.
Sorry - but none of my boys have had to keep themselves warm around their necks whatever the weather.

Once in a blue moon is nothing compared to the likes of Cesc Fabregas bitching evey game.

All it takes is a few referee's to penalise the crap that goes on for about a month and it will be eradicated.

Although dodgy refereeing is also a problem (Van Persie - Barca)

I know football evolves over years but is Wearing stupid clothing and Tactical diving really the way.
