Who's still waiting for a phone call for tivo?

Well tomorrow is the 1st of march and I think vm have promised most people will be contacted in march to arrange for an install. They better get a move on, who's still waiting?

Re: Who's still waiting for a phone call for tivo?

One solitary email we have all had regarding the tivo since we all registered in december! And at best some of the emails have been un specific. I posted on here a while ago about waiting for vm to go at their own pace and they will decide when the time is right but this is getting a bit tedious!:o:

I'm still to receive a call and I've not heard of many people, recently, who have and VM say they aren't calling anyone who didn't win as part of the remote draw or who aren't S1 customers :dozey:

Just phoned cust services they then put me through to the 'relevant' dept he said roll out will 'begin' from april for existing customers. I'm sorry this is just stupid and highly dis organised. It just seems we are all being fed little tit bits of rubbish. Even the emails we got some said april, some said end of march, some said during march. Are they all sitting at vm thinking right lets really wind them up

I have just received a key and it says insert ( guess where ), so now i think that they are really starting to wind us up.:D:D:D ONLY JOKING.

I do think that it has been a shambles on the roll out as all they need to say was were are having a couple of draws to get the box early and then the full roll out will be in April:confused:

As I have said they are showcasing it at the Ideal Homes Show which finishes 27 March so it fits in well with that.

Re: Who's still waiting for a phone call for tivo?

If you’re interested, you don’t need to do a thing. We’ll be in touch around the end of March to let you know how you can get the TiVo service before it goes on general sale. For now, you can sit back, relax and wait for all the good stuff to come to you.

Worrying thing is this just sounds like another email with instructions on what to do.

Surprise , surprise. I thought full roll out meant new customers as well. Probably to buggy or delay in third tuner firmware.

Just this minute had a phone call from the CEO's office, he told me that neil had asked him to phone me. He apologised that I had been misled on the roll out of the tivo, and that random staff shouldn't go giving out what dates they think the tivo will launch. He said that it has been trialled with staff and is now currently trialling to certain VIP customers. He said that if and only if this is deemed successful then a further rollout will take place by area and that not everyone will be offered an install immediately. He said it will be rolled out by postcode areas. Got to say very impressed by quickness of response, but very dissapointed that it could be another 2, 3 or more months before it comes my way!

Sorry he also told me that if this existing trial is successful then roll out will be in april, but to what areas and on what timescale he couldn't say. He said that I shouldn't have to be chasing them and that they will contact me when the time is right.

You forgot to take out the 1000 plus S1 VM customers.

So its only about 1580 a day 7 days a week ;)

I can see it now...

VM: "Hello Sir, this is Virgin Media calling about TiVo and-"

Me: "YYYYESSSSSSS!!!! TIVO TIME, BABY! SHOW ME THE TIVO!"

VM: "Erm, we were wondering if you would mind calling up some pre-registered customers for us - in return, we'll give you XL for free, for 1 month."

Me: :erm:

1612 = a team of 30 = just over 53 calls per day each.

I used to take 70 calls a day (in bound) in faults for Telewest along, long time ago.

So there's actually a team of 30 people? If so, cool.

Does that include "Sorry my husband / other half isn't here please call back" etc etc

and how many installers more importantly if it takes 1:( to 3 hours a time.

This is complete nonsense!
Guys have been on this forum and others who are not on VIP who have had an install.
It will be months and months before mear VIP customers like me get a ring. Also the staffers who look at these posts just dont seem to get it.

Not sure if we need another thread for this but I suggest we list the following to try and build up some sort of profile of who is getting contact or not.

Pre Register
VIP20 (Now VIP50 since Saturday)
No email/letter/call or anything not even that lucky number 001 thing.
NG13 area

Really cheesed off about the lucky number thing as my brother in law who is on M phone, M BB and I think XL tv actually told me he had 2 of those come to him when I saw him yesterday!
Wish I had known before the closing date though!

Re: Who's still waiting for a phone call for tivo?

But we know that this isn't the case. Which is why people are getting frustrated.

I'm sitting here waiting patiently. I want TiVO. I'm quite happy to pay £150 for it. Every time Sunday rolls around I juggle the V+ box so that the wife gets to see what she wants to. I'm very much looking forward to the fundamental improvements to the recording engine - that and the shinier UI (I had WMC for a year and V+ feels a bit stone age by comparison!). Everything else will be a bonus.

I've done some checking at work and can I just say that TiVo is NOT going to be rolled out by postcode.

I reckon where the misunderstanding has come from is likely that Virgin will probably use the pre-registrations to gauge in what areas there is the most interest in TiVo, to make sure that any stock is allocated to where people have already said they want it (which makes sense to me). So there may be some differences in how many TiVo boxes get sent to each region, this will not be at the expense of the ability for existing customers to order it across the whole country.

I have spoken to the person in the CEO office who made this statement and have had it clarified.

What he was trying to say is that due to different levels of interest in various areas those with large numbers would take longer and so it could be that one area is complete whilst another is still arranging installs.

All areas will start at the same time, just some will take a lot longer.

I am in Nottingham and waiting myself, registered on the first day and entered the online draw. Just having to be patient, however I believe from another post that there should be a Tivo on demo in the Nottingham VM store so must pay it a visit!
