Internet down in Watford area
 

Hi,

Woke up this morning to no Internet - the cable modem won't give out An IP address by DHCP when connected to the cable network. First person I spoke to on the helpdesk tried to blame my equipment, second one has booked an engineer for Monday but I don't see how that'll help as it looks like a network problem to me!

Just wondered if anybody else was having problems?

If it is an area problem it will be cancelled but they have to follow process and if no faults are listed at the time you ring in then they must book an engineer for it to flag up with the Outage department.

I live close to Watford, in the Edgware area, my phone had severe cracking last night, my phone is now dead, my internet was dead for some time last night but it is OK now, phone still dead though.

The is an area fault with a fix time of 1730.

It is a priority 1 fault.

Thought there was an area fault - can see it on the website now. I assume priority 1 means top priority?

Well checking the service status page, i logged into the page and it says everything is perfect. Would be nice if they posted correct information, would save customers having to call in or post on forums.

Yeah my phone is still dead. Not sure if the fault covers my area also though, im close to Watford though.

Turns out that the fault in Watford had nothing to do with my problem. Engineer came out within 30 minutes of my call to VM and has fixed the problem. Thanks :)

Still down, hopefully the 5.30 estimated fix time is accurate!

We've been advised it's restored. Can you try a reboot of your modem.

Just rebooted and still the same - the modem isn't issuing an IP to whatever it's connected to.

ok, engineers are still on site in Watford. Must still be issues then.

We have a new EFT of 9pm, but hopefully should be fixed before then.

Seems to be back up for me now, though download speed is < 1Mb at the moment.

Been a bit flaky this evening just dropping out every now and again but seems stable now although speeds are a bit all over the place.

Still being worked on. Engineer is awaiting a part in transit at the headend. Should be fixed in the next hour or so.

Went down originally here around this time last night, it's been 24 hours and still not repaired, if the engineer is awaiting a part in transit why is the ETA for 9am on SUNDAY morning?

9am Saturday it said. The Outage Support Team don't add any new updates to websites after midnight, so anything outstanding will be updated again in the morning. Incident Management will update the ticket if it's a MSO or CSO after this time.

I'm not back in work until later, so can't check tickets at the moment. Is it back up?
