This software must emulate a modem GSM on serial port.

Have a read through this thread, it will help you find out where the best place to ask for help on this issue is. Pay specific attention to Sirius' links for the ubuntu forums. Presuming you are still using ubuntu and not a windows machine?

think he'd be better off with an imaginary virtual pc - where anything is possible :D


why in hell would you want to simulate a gsm connection, surely either want a connection or not - not to pretend to have one. there was a windows program that never moved from xp - for the life of me can't remeber what it was called but used it for setting of at commands and baud rates etc. may be able to do it with that.............but doubt it, think it's madness.

Back to basics.

Why do you want to emulate a GSM Modem on a serial port?

If we know what you are trying to attempt, we may understand how to help you better, but at the moment (and nearly every time before) you are asking how to resolve a solution, rather than stating your requirement.....

oh well, you will have to wait and see if there is any member on this "cabletvtelephoneandinternetforum" i.e. Nonubuntog.s.m.nondiscombobulatorwhateverforumaxce ptintitnytintbitsandpieces(takes another breath:))
that can shed some light on your present predicament and allude to some sort af recommendation, as to a workable or helpfull solution to your problem.

I take it from the tone of your posts that our virtual friend is running you ragged around the virtual tree by moving the virtual goal posts each time you think you have the answer to his virtual problem. :)

Maybe he needs one of these and can use it to travel to a time and place were his virtual request is available at a virtual shop.

Can someone please get rid of all these spam posts; they are tempting me to look on other forums instead.

I think this is a legitimate question; the Nokia N95 phone I have can act as a GSM modem etc but the manufacturer has limited its capability to use the CNMI command. An emulator that gives the expected responses would be very helpful for developing at this point.
