What temperature do you have your thermostat set to?

I live in a three bedroom bungalow and my dad has the thermostat set to 21C

I, personally, find that to hot and 20C is a much more comfortable temperature

So I'm curious what temperature you guys/girls have your thermostat set to?

Secretly I'm a polar bear - I have mine set to 13C.

I like it cool. I actually had to turn my central heating on this weekend - it was getting a touch chlly - my breath was condensing.

18ish as a general rule, 20+ if it starts feeling a bit chilly

19°C here. Can't stand it too hot in a house.

For some crazy reason the council put my stat in the hall so no matter what I set it to it either gets to cold or to hot but I try to keep it under 20

Ours is set to 17 degrees C normally but we had it up to 22 degrees for an hour on Friday night though as it was really chilly!

Re: What temperature do you have your thermostat set to?

The answer depends so much on where your thermostat is located; ours is halfway up the stairs and having recently doubled the insulation in the loft, the heating never came on as upstairs was always warm so we had to turn ours up to 21 degrees having previously turned it down to 20!

16-18 normally. 20 if the GF is staying as she always complains it's too cold.

We do have CH but we don't tend to use it since we knocked up a wood-burner from an old gas cylinder..

Master in the hallway set to 18c, then all other rooms at 18c too except the bathroom which is at 20c... got to love TRVs...

We have a nice programmable unit (in hall) so

Mon-Fri
0630-0830 : 19
0830-1200 : 16 (house empty or wife busy houseworking so moving around a lot)
1200-1330 : 18
1330-1600 : 16
1600-2200 : 19
overnight : 12

Sat/Sun
0730-0930 : 19
0930-1230 : 16
1230-1400 : 19
1400-1600 : 16 - have coal fire in front room so can turn down CH
1600-2300 : 19
overnight : 12

We also have radiator valves so can turn down heating in unused rooms

25C here, though can go up to 28C at certain times. But never below 23C.

I thought I was the only one here Peanut... I have the zone that controls my room set to about 22....

I think I am warm blooded because when it gets colder outside I am colder inside..... Like when its summertime I usually love 17C but in the colder months,17 is wayyyyyyyyyyy too cold for me......

Wow, this is old ... again ...

22C mostly, with two boosts to 22.5C in the morning and evening.

Re: What temperature do you have your thermostat set to?

22C is my preference, however since getting a smart thermostat I set that to 19c which is still a bit low and then manually tweak it on my phone up to a max of 22c if I think I need it.

My heating got switched one for Autumn on Saturday morning and duvet changed when I started to freeze my tits off...... Roll on Spring.

Target temperatures
18c 0615 - 08:30
15c 08:30 - 17:00
18c 17:00 - 22:00
15c 22:00 - 06:15

House is incredibly well insulated, we use a 3tog duvet all year round

Am I the only one that turns their heating off at 10pm - 7am? I can understand the heating being on during the night if people are not in bed though.

Ours is off 10 to 8. It used to be 9 to 6, but we go to bed later these days, and get up without the call of alarm clocks.

14 Degrees overnight and then 18-20 during the day.

Re: What temperature do you have your thermostat set to?

15 overnight, then around 18 through the day (up to 20 if there is a cold snap).

Just got all the winter jumpers, long-sleeved t-shirts, long-sleeved polo shirts, and thicker shirts down from the loft yesterday, and put the lighter weight t-shirts, polo shirts, and short sleeved shirts up there.

I don't have central heating, I try and keep my living room above 19c and if used turn of the electric fire at 23c

Re: What temperature do you have your thermostat set to?

Our CH is on all the time but with the temp set to 19°C upstairs and 19.5 downstairs it rarely comes on as new build it rarely gets that cool in here.

It did come on a couple of times recently though as it was 13°C outside and the windows were open so house got too cool.

Re: What temperature do you have your thermostat set to?

Couldn't wait until this is resurrected again in 2037, we have ours at 18c normally with a Nest learning thermostat sometimes tweeking it down to 17.5c. Manually turn it up to 19c in the winter on very cold days to keep the rest of the occupants from complaining too much.

Exactly the same as our house. I wear a jumper if it gets to cold.

Re: What temperature do you have your thermostat set to?

Is it cheaper to leave the heating on at 15c overnight or have it come on at 7 in the morning, any research on this?
